xyz nyc competitive dance series celebrates its third installment on Thursday, December 13th. Modern dance-makers from across the city are invited to come together, meet for possibly the first time, and take on the difficult task of creating a new piece and showing it for an audience in a single week.

AOP (American Opera Projects) in partnership with The Walt Whitman Project will be participating in the Brooklyn Public Library's annual free Kwanzaa program on Thursday, December 27 at 3pm at the S. In keeping with WAM Theatre's double philanthropic mission, their acclaimed October World Premiere Production of 'The Old Mezzo' by Susan Dworkin led to a $2400 donation to the production's beneficiary, Shout Out Loud Productions, a local non-profit taking action to address sexual trafficking. The check presentation was made following the final performance at the Berkshire Museum in Pittsfield.

Caravan, the quintessential precursors to the British Prog Rock movement, have announced a very special UK Tour that kicks off on January 8th 2013 at London's prestigious Queen Elizabeth Hall, at the Southbank Centre. And with that, Sonny and Kate tumble through the roof of an old farmhouse and into a dusty attic. Trapped. But when an old radio crackles to life with a distress call from halfway around the world and out of time, the kids find themselves embroiled in a high flying mystery with a legendary aviator named Amelia.

The Hudson River Mummers, led by Henry Chapin (New York Revels at Symphony Space), will take to the June Havoc Stage at Abingdon Theatre Company (312 West 22nd Street) on December 15 at 2pm.
