THE MODERN STAGE is please to annoucne an additional 3 weeks for performances for 'MIRACLE DAY,' a new play written and directed by TOM SIME, Writer in Residence at 45 Bleecker in New York. This romantic comedy-drama is a bittersweet story about extreme happiness-and what comes after. The production features ADAM SMITH, KRISTINA OLSON, DAMIAN MAFFEI and MARCELLA GOHEEN. The action is interwoven with an original rock score composed and played live by VERN WOODHEAD and YANA DAVYDOVA of the Brooklyn band THE EPICURES. Jubilee Theatre continues the 2009-2010 season with the Southwest premiere of the drama by August Wilson, Gem of the Ocean. Over the past 20 years, Wilson had staked a legitimate claim to the title of the nation's most important dramatist winning two Pulitzers and a Tony. Previews for the production will begin May 28, and the production officially opens on June 4.

The Chesapeake Shakespeare Company's production of Much Ado About Nothing is set to open at PFI Historic Park in Ellicott, City, MD on Friday, June 11th at 8pm. The production is directed by Ryan Whinnem and will run through July 11th.

B. Someday Productions of Kensington/Fishtown, in partnership with the Neighborhood Transformation Initiative and the United Way of Southeastern PA and the City of Philadelphia, present the culmination of a semester's work with students from Mariana Bracetti Academy Charter School at two Public Performances on Thursday, May 27, 2010 from 4:00 & 6:00pm. The performances, entitled 'Of Mythic Proportions' was created from the 9th-12th grade student's personal stories about growing up in Kensington and how violence has become a part of their lives. The students will perform their work at Walking Fish Theatre, 2509 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19125 for the community and the general public. In addition to the performance, there will be a short discussion raised by the topics in the stories, with a chance for the audience to interact with the performers. Following the workshop will be a reception with refreshments. The cost is free.

Bailiwick Chicago's Executive Director Kevin Mayes announced a call for fashion designer submissions for the upcoming production of Elton John and Tim Rice's AIDA, which will begin previews on July 1st at American Theatre Company. Bailiwick Chicago seeks four designers to create Egyptian-inspired gowns for the production's fashion show-themed musical number, 'My Strongest Suit.'

Andrew Lloyd Webber is the composer of The Likes of Us, Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Jesus Christ Superstar, By Jeeves, Evita, Variations and Tell Me on a Sunday combined as Song & Dance, Cats, Starlight Express, The Phantom of The Opera, Aspects of Love, Sunset Boulevard, Whistle Down The Wind, The Beautiful Game and The Woman in White. He composed The film scores of Gumshoe and The Odessa File, and Requiem, a setting of The Latin Requiem Mass, for which he won a Grammy for Best Contemporary Composition. He has also produced in The West End and on Broadway, not only his own work, but The Olivier Award-winning plays La Bête and Daisy Pulls It Off.

According to Comingsoon.net, Academy Award-winner Bill Condon has officially signed on to direct The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. This will be the fourth film in the Twilight series based on the novels of the same name and will star Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. Melissa Rosenberg is currently writing the film's screenplay and Wyck Godfrey, Karen Rosenfelt and Twilight author Stephanie Meyer will produce the film.

According to Deadline.com, GLEE has officially become the highest-rated new scripted series of the season after last night's huge ratings. Deadline.com states that GLEE 'averaged a 5.3 rating/14 share among adults 18-49 after American Idol, flat from last week's heavily promoted Madonna episode.'

Executive Producer Lou Spisto has announced that due to unforeseen conflicts with Roger Rees' schedule, The Old Globe's upcoming production of What You Will has been replaced with Golda's Balcony starring four-time Tony Award nominee Tovah Feldshuh. Written by William Gibson and supervised by Scott Schwartz, Golda's Balcony earned Feldshuh a Tony Award nomination for Best Actress, and is the longest running one-woman show in Broadway history. Golda's Balcony will runin the Old Globe Theatre April 28 - May 30. Previews run April 28 - May 1. Opening night is Saturday, May 1 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are currently available to subscribers only.
