Nashville Ballet will hold Youth Cast auditions for the 2009 encore production of Nutcracker on Sunday, September 13, and on Sunday, September 20, at 3630 Redmon Street, Nashville, TN 37209. Nashville Ballet will present the Nashville-based version of this holiday classic. The traditional story is set during the time of the 1897 Tennessee Exposition when the Parthenon was built and incorporates many local elements, such as the interior of Clara?s house designed after the Belle Meade mansion. There are many different and imaginative roles in this production. Only one audition is needed; select one of the two dates. There is a $10.00 audition fee and all participants are required to bring a full-body photograph. All participants must be eight years old by December 31, 2009. Girls should wear proper dance attire and boys should wear shorts and a T-shirt. Thin Air Theatre Company presents at the Butte Theatre, 139 E. Bennett Ave., Cripple Creek; Oct. 2-31, a melodrama adapted from the 1867 Victorian melodrama Lost in London by Watts Phillips. This new adaptation tells the story of a poor Cripple Creek miner who journeys to Denver to reclaim his wife and to have his vengeance on the villain who stole her. It is a thrilling story of honor, revenge, and enduring love, even from beyond the grave. The show will be followed by an all new Halloween Olio.

James A. Blackman III and Civic Light Opera of South Bay Cities proudly present Rodgers & Hammerstein?s Oklahoma! September 16 - October 4, 2009 at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center. Bask in the warmth and enchantment of Italy without leaving Seattle during Taproot Theatre Company?s production of Enchanted April. Elizabeth von Arnim?s resplendent 1920s novel comes to life on stage in this Tony Award-nominated play by Matthew Barber. The enticement of an enchanting Italian holiday captivates the hearts of two British housewives on a drizzly London afternoon in 1922, and fills their imaginations with wisteria and sunshine. By the time they arrive at their Mediterranean villa, an aging matron and a young socialite have joined their quest for something more. The gardens, sea, cinnamon and pasta are just the beginning of the transformation they discover. Enchanted April, directed by associate artistic director Karen Lund, opens on September 25 and runs through October 24 with low-price previews on September 23 & 24, plus a pay-what-you-can performance on September 30.

On August 29 and August 31, 2009, Ilitch Charities will hold a gala and Celebrity Golf Classic to benefit four noted nonprofit organizations in metro Detroit. Both events will give metro Detroiters the rare opportunity to meet and mingle with top sports figures and entertainment celebrities. Sports legends such as Bill Laimbeer, Vinnie Johnson and Lance Parish are expected to participate, along with up-and-coming athletes such as 2008 Olympic gold medalist Peter Vanderkaay. In addition, entertainment celebrities such as actors Dave Coulier and Steve Blackwood plan to join guests at the events.

Brent & Rachael Ditzler joined Totem Pole Playhouse Fiddler, Larry Dahlke for a private session at the summer playhouse in Caledonia recently. Brent Ditzler, age 9 is in the 3rd grade at Corpus Christi and has been playing the violin for 5 years. His sister, Rachael, age 12 is a 7th grader at Corpus Christi in Chambersburg and has been playing the violin for almost 10 years. She is a member of the Hershey Symphony Festival Strings conducted by ASCAP award winning arranger, Dr. Sandra Dackow.

Due to record Box Office Sales, The Gift Theatre announces extension of the Chicago Premiere of Rinne Groff?s ?The Ruby Sunrise?. Rinne Groff's The Ruby Sunrise is directed by Gift Ensemble Member John Gawlik. It will be extended to run from September 11th-September 27th, 2009.

Auditions for Windham Theatre's production of The Fantasticks will be held on Tuesday & Wednesday, September 8 & 9, 2009 at 7 PM at the Windham Middle School Auditorium, Quarry Street, Willimantic. The show will be directed by Victor Funderburk with Music Direction by Ken Clark. The show dates are November 6, 7, 13, 14, 15, 19, 20 & 21, 2009 at the Burton Leavitt Theatre.

Tony Award-winning actress Sutton Foster delighted students as their special surprise guest during the Broadway Artists Alliance Summer Workshop and Summer Intensive (Session Two). Foster also taught a master class on song interpretation during the Summer Intensive (Session One).
