Theatre in the Round Players (TRP) presents Much Ado About Nothing by Shakespeare to open its 58th season as the longest-running theatre in Minneapolis. The show performs on weekends September 11 through October 4, featuring a Thursday performance October 1.

Seattle Theatre Group (STG) announced today a fundraising campaign, 'Paramount Sign of the Times - Replication, Restoration and Greening,' an effort to finance an exact replication of The Paramount vertical sign and restoration of its marquee. The vertical sign replacement will begin October 6, 2009.

Cabaret at the Castle has chosen Grammy-nominated recording artist, television and Broadway star, Ilene Graff, to appear in celebration of 100th anniversary of the structure known today as the Magic Castle. Accompanied by her Musical Director-husband Ben Lanzarone, Graff performs songs from Broadway, the movies and the pop world with completely unique interpretations and arrangements. From Harold Arlen to the Beatles, the Bergmans to Sondheim, you?ve never heard these songs sung the way Ilene does. Graff?s career started on Broadway, performing in Promises, Promises, the original production of Grease (Sandy), and in the original cast of Cy Coleman and Michael Stewart?s I Love My Wife, creating the role of Cleo. Feeling honored that he tailored it to her specific talents, Ilene reprises ?her very own Cy Coleman song,? Love Revolution in her show, as well as pieces from Grease, Porgy and Bess, Gypsy and many others. First You Dream hits the Magic Castle on Monday, Sept. 14th, 2009 and Tuesday, Sept. 15th, 2009. Doors open at 7pm. Show starts at 8pm.

Rip is one of television's most recognizable celebrities and ?It Ain?t All Confetti? puts a humorous and revealing spotlight on a career that has spanned five remarkable decades, 'It Ain't All Confetti' is set to take place on Sunday, Oct 11th, 2009. ArtsWest starts the 2009-10 season with Dead Man's Cell Phone, a wildly imaginative new work from Sarah Ruhl, the playwright behind The Clean House and Eurydice. When Jean answers the cell phone of the corpse at the next table, she unwittingly embarks on a quirky odyssey that takes her from grief to the black market to the afterlife. With unfailing empathy, she sets the dead man's bizarre life to rights and on the way resurrects her own. ArtsWest favorite Carol Roscoe returns to direct this Seattle premiere.

MTNZ will be celebrating their 50th year of existence at this conference and it is intended that it will be a most memorable one. Not to say that many other conferences haven?t been memorable but it is not every year you get to mark such a special occasion and milestone. Whilst Kate has advised many of the details of conference already through previous Spotlights, Zone One organising team have a few surprises up their sleeve for those who intend being there. They encourage you all to get your numbers attending sorted out and registrations in early for, if indications they are receiving are correct, they could see a record attendance. They are aware of a number of musical theatre people who regularly attended conference in the 1980?s and 1990?s and haven?t been since who are making a special effort to attend the 50th Anniversary celebrations.

Imagination Players is bringing a Broadway classic to the stage at the KD Studio Theatre. ?Bye Bye Birdie? tells the story of a rock and roll singer who is about to be inducted into the army. His manager plans a farewell party at which the star is to kiss one lucky fan good bye on ?The Ed Sullivan Show? before he departs to serve his country. Rehearsals will be held Saturdays starting September 19th, running thru November 7 from 10am-2pm. Performances, at the KD Studio Theatre, will be November 13, 14 and 15, 2009.

Profiles Theatre announces the fourth extension of its hit production Graceland, the World Premiere play written by Ellen Fairey. To make way for Profiles? upcoming Midwest premiere of Neil LaBute?s The Mercy Seat, Graceland will move to the theatre space three doors down from Profiles (National Pastime Theater) beginning September 17.
