Primary Stages in association with Susan Dietz (Fela!, Mothers and Sons), present the world premiere of While I Yet Live by the Tony-winning star of Kinky Boots and Angels in America, Billy Porter, and directed by Tony Award nominee Sheryl Kaller (Mothers and Sons, Next Fall, Adrift in Macao). Poor Behavior plays a limited, six-week engagement September 23 - October 31 at Primary Stages at The Duke on 42nd Street - a NEW 42ND STREET project (229 West 42nd Street). In celebration of Disney's Beauty and the Beast's 20th anniversary on the stage, Disney Theatrical Productions, NETworks and Broadway Entertainment Group will present the first-ever international tour for the title. The English-language tour will open at Istanbul's Zorlu Center in October 2014 and will tour to diverse international markets including Kazakhstan, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia marking the first time Disney's timeless musical will have been seen in these territories. Roundabout Theatre Company will soon present Tom Stoppard's Tony Award-winning play The Real Thing, directed by Sam Gold. The Real Thing, starring Ewan McGregor as 'Henry,'Maggie Gyllenhaal as 'Annie,' Cynthia Nixon as 'Charlotte' and Josh Hamilton as 'Max,' begins preview performances on Thursday, October 2, 2014 and opens officially on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway (227 West 42nd Street). MCC THEATER will next feature Elizabeth Reaser, Gia Crovatin, Golden Globe nominee Callie Thorne, and Frederick Weller for the world premiere of MCC Playwright-in-Residence Neil LaBute's new play, The Money Shot, directed by Terry Kinney. Performances for The Money Shot begin at the Lucille LortelTheatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC) on September 4, 2014. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Tony nominee Andrew Rannells will soon succeed Neil Patrick Harris in Hedwig and the Angry Inch on Broadway. Rannells, who will begin performances on August 20, after Harris departs on August 17, just met the press alongside Tony winner Lena Hall, John Cameron Mitchell, and Stephen Trask this morning. Tony Award nominee and 'American Idol' finalist Constantine Maroulis returned to Rock of Ages as Drew last week and BroadwayWorld.com was there to capture his epic return. Maroulis will appear for a limited 12-week engagement through October 26, 2014. In an evening, conceived and directed by Tony Award winner Scott Wittman, LuPone will perform an eclectic collection of torch songs by songwriters including Arthur Schwartz, Howard Dietz, Jule Styne, Sammy Cahn,Billy Barnes, Harold Arlen, George and Ira Gershwin, and Cole Porter. Don Heckman of The Los Angeles Times described the show as 'a beautifully paced, marvelously delivered torch-song exploration of the pleasures and pains of love; LuPone's remarkable, larger-than-life qualities and stunning musicality are distilled into the pure essence of her art.' On June 26, Shia LaBeouf was escorted out of Rounabout Theatre's revival of Cabaret in handcuffs for smoking inside the theater and engaging in other disruptive behavior. In this edition, Randy created a hilarious Cabaret parody video of the events and gives him a piece of his mind. When LaBeouf was asked to leave, he refused and then threatened the officers and people on the sidewalk outside. If anyone can tell LaBeouf how it is, Randy Rainbow can.
Heathers: The Musical, the new smash-hit musical stage adaptation of Daniel Waters' iconic 1989 dark comedy film, just celebrated the release of its World Premiere Cast Recording on Yellow Sound Label- available now for digital download on iTunes, and in stores .
