The Great American Songbook High School Vocal Academy & Competition is a celebration of the Golden Age of American Popular music. This program is the only high school vocal competition in the U.S. dedicated solely to the music from Broadway, Hollywood musicals and the Tin Pan Alley era of the early to mid-twentieth century. Registration has begun for Howard County Arts Council's (HCAC) winter educational programs at the Howard County Center for the Arts in Ellicott City. HCAC offers classes and workshops for ages five to adult. Winter arts programs, open to the public, begin January 28. Classes range in duration from six to eight weeks.

New York Theatre Ballet's (NYTB) 2012-2013 season will debut an all-new ballet, BARK! IN THE PARK with choreography by Chase Brock of Broadway's hit SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK, and story and music by Karen LeFrak. This production will join The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Goose! and Peter & the Wolf in its series of perfect 1-hour ballets for kids and families.

On Saturday February 9th, indie band Sky-Pony will present LOVE FOR SALE: a boudoir-themed concert experience in honor of Valentine's Day, featuring songs about sex, love and everything in between. Sky-Pony is known for shows that blur the line between rock concert, party, and theater event. This is their latest confection!
