Andy Blankenbuehler has won the 2017 Tony Award for Best Choreography for Bandstand. Mr. Blankenbuehler won a 2008 Tony Award for his choreography in the Tony Award winning Best Musical In The Heights (also Lortel Award, Outer Critics Award and Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Choreography). He also choreographed the Broadway revival of The Apple Tree.

Christopher Ashley has won the 2017 Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical for Come From Away. He also received nominations for MEMPHIS and THE ROCK HORROR PICTURE SHOW. His other Broadway credits include Xanadu, Leap of Faith, and All Shook Up. West End credits include Memphis.

Rebecca Taichman has won the 2017 Tony Award for Best Direction of a Play for Indecent.

Rachel Bay Jones has won the 2017 Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical for Dear Evan Hansen. This marks her first Tony nomination and first win. Her other Broadway credits include Pippin, Hair (Mother, Buddhadalirama); Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (u/s-performed Lucia). 

Alex Lacamoire has won the 2017 Tony Award for Best Orchestrations for Dear Evan Hansen. This marks his third Tony nomination and third win. Lacamoire won the 2016 Tony Award for Best Orchestrations for HAMILTON. and served as the Music Director, Orchestrator and Co-Arranger for the musical. He also won a Tony and a Grammy for his work on IN THE HEIGHTS.

Cynthia Nixon has won the 2017 Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Play for Lillian Hellman'S The Little Foxes. This marks Ms. Nixon's fourth Tony nomination and second win. She previously won the Tony for 2006's RABBIT HOLE. She was also nominated for 2012's WIT and 1995's INDISCRETIONS. 

Steven Levenson has won the 2017 Tony Award for Best Book of a Musical for Dear Evan Hansen. This marks his first Tony nomination and win.

Justin Paul and Benj Pasek have won the 2017 Tony Award for Best Original Score (Music and/or Lyrics) Written for the Theatre for Dear Evan Hansen. They were previously nominated for the original score of 2013's A CHRISTMAS STORY: THE MUSICAL. Earlier this year, the duo won an Academy Award for Best Original Song for LA LA LAND's 'City of Stars' They were also nominated for the song 'Audition' from the film.

Bradley King has won the 2017 Tony Award for Best Lighting Design of a Musical for NATASHA, PIERRE & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812. His collaborations with Rachel Chavkin include Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812 (Broadway), Hadestown (NYTW), Preludes (LCT3), The Fairy Tale Lives of Russian Girls (Yale Rep), and the upcoming The Royal Family (The Guthrie).

Gavin Creel has won the 2017 Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Musical for Hello, Dolly!. This marks the actor's third Tony nomination and first win. He was previously nominated for 2019's HAIR AND 2002's THROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE. Creel won the 2014 Olivier and WhatsOnStage Awards for his starring role as 'Elder Price' in the London production of THE BOOK OF MORMON.

Michael Aronov has won the 2017 Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Play for Oslo. This marks the actors first Tony nomination and win. His other Lincoln Center Theater credits include Golden Boy (Belasco Theatre), and Blood and Gifts (U.S. premiere).

In Broadway by Design, BroadwayWorld is shining a spotlight on the stellar designs of this Broadway season, show by show. Today, we continue the series with David Gallo, Jane Cox and Toni-Leslie James, who acted as scenic, lighting and costume designers for August Wilson's final Broadway debut, Jitney.

Over the past 12 months, more than 40 plays and musicals opened in one of the most moving and exciting Broadway seasons in recent memory, and Dear Evan Hansen is deeply humbled and joy-filled to have been a part of it. Below, enjoy a celebration of the times had, the memories shared, and the friends found.

The 62nd Annual Drama Desk Awards, hosted by Michael Urie, were held at The Town Hall (123 W. 43rd Street) just last night, June 4th.

Manhattan Theatre Club's New York premiere of Cost of Living, the new play by Martyna Majok (Ironbound, Mouse in a Jar), directed by Jo Bonney (Father Comes Home from the Wars; By the Way, Meet Vera Stark), opens next Wednesday, June 7 at MTC at New York City Center - Stage I (131 West 55th Street). Performances began Tuesday May 16.

The Broadway at Birdland just welcomed Glenn Close, joined by the cast of Sunset Boulevard in a one-night-only event benefiting Bring Change 2 Mind, which works to end the stigma and discrimination surrounding mental illness. 'Vintage Hollywood' featured musical combinations celebrating the Golden Age of Hollywood, with musical direction by Michael Patrick Walker.
