Veteran humorist and playwright, Justin Moran, launched 'Spiderman Smackdown', a guerilla theatre project to write, rehearse, and perform a fully realized musical based on the character Spiderman in under 30 days with a budget of $0. 'All My Children' stars Walt Willey and Bobbie Eakes co-hosted the Grand Finale Celebration of 'ABC Daytime Salutes Broadway Cares' in New York City on March 13, 2011. Fifty years after her legendary Carnegie Hall debut, The New York Pops remembered Hollywood icon Judy Garland with a song-for-song re-creation of the 1961 performance that is referred to by so many as 'the greatest night in show business history'. Under the baton of Music Director Steven Reineke, Broadway luminary Ashley Brown, Grammy Award winner Heather Headley and West Side Story star Karen Olivo took the stage in this vibrant revival of the historic concert, which features signature Garland favorites, such as 'Over the Rainbow', 'The Trolley Song', 'Come Rain or Come Shine' and 'The Man That Got Away'.

Ashley Brown, Broadway's original MARY POPPINS, returned to the company yesterday, March 8, at the New Amsterdam Theatre. Brown assumes the title role through Sunday, July 17 (Laura Michelle Kelly, currently playing the role, will take a brief hiatus for a film project, returning to the show on Tuesday, July 19). Brown reunites with her original Broadway ‘Bert,' co-star Gavin Lee, having last performed with him when they launched and headlined the MARY POPPINS North American tour. Sh-K-Boom & Ghostlight Records have joined with Sara Jane Mercer to present Things to Ruin for a strictly-limited run at (Le) Poisson Rouge (158 Bleecker Street). Show times are February 28 at 10pm, March 7 at 7:30pm, and March 20 and March 28 at 10:30pm. The cast includes Ben Arons, Nick Blaemire, Starr Busby, Katrina Rose Dideriksen, Ian Kagey, Carrie Manolakos, Eric William Morris, Mike Pettry, Lance Rubin, Jason 'Sweet Tooth' Williams and Joe Iconis.

MORGAN KARR, Nashville-born singer/songwriter, made his Rockwood Music Hall debut after playing to sold out crowds at Joe's Pub and The Bitter End this past fall. Adding a full band to his soaring vocals, Karr showcased his soulful pop/rock sound by playing his original music as well as his own twist on hits by Sara Bareilles, Bruno Mars, and The Fugees.
