According to The Hollywood Reporter, last night's Britney-themed episode of GLEE brought in a staggering 13.3 million viewers - they're highest rating yet and a 4% increase from last week's 'mammoth' season opener. The episode not only featured a musical tribute to Spears, it featured Spears, herself. John Stamos also made a guest appearance as a dentist and purveyor of the anesthesia that sends Heather into her Britney fantasies.

According to an article in the New York Daily News, David Cromer, director of OUR TOWN, THE ADDING MACHINE and BRIGHTON BEACH MEMOIRS, was awarded the prestigious MacArthur Fellowship on Monday. Referred to as the 'genius' grant, the Arthur Foundation awards its recipients with $500,000 over five years to spend as they choose, 'no strings attached.'

On October 14th, 2010, Sing for Hope (www.singforhope.org) will present its annual gala at 583 Park Avenue in New York City. The gala will raise awareness and support for Sing for Hope's programs that mobilize professional artists in volunteer service to benefit schools, hospitals and communities. The event will also raise funds for the 2011 return of Sing for Hope Street Pianos, a public art installation that brought 60 upright pianos to the streets of New York this past summer, and embodies Sing for Hope's mission of making art available to all.
