After an unexpected move to Ypsilanti, The New Theatre Project announces adjustments and additions to the lineup for Season 2: Revelation. The new season will be offered at the newly opened Mix Studio Theatre, a new addition to the downtown Ypsilanti boutique where 'cool. people. mix.' Entrances to the theater are through the store at 130 W. Michigan Ave. or via the Washington St. entrance. As part of the exciting move downtown, TNTP will now offer credit card sales but ticket prices stay constant at the low price of $10 and $15. Jackie Evancho, an 11-year-old singer most noted for her appearance on 'America's Got Talent,' will make her solo debut with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra on Friday, August 5, 2011, at 8:00 p.m. in Atlanta Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center. Guest conductor Constantine Kitsopoulos will lead Ms. Evancho and the Orchestra.

Circle Theatre's 30th Anniversary Season continues with Becky's New Car, a new play by renowned playwright Steven Dietz. When Becky's New Car first premiered in 2008, Variety claimed that it 'takes the audience on a smart, comic cruise through the perils of middle-aged longing and regret.' In 2009, it was one of six finalists for the prestigious Steinberg New Play Award given by the American Theatre Critics Association. Preview performances are Thursday, July 28; Friday, July 29; and Saturday, July 30 (matinee). The production officially opens Saturday evening, July 30, at 8:00pm, followed by a post-show party with the cast and crew.

Legendary television writer/producer and composer Samuel Denoff died July 8, 2011 at his home in Brentwood, California. He was 83 and suffered from Alzheimers' Disease. Services will be held Monday July 11 at 11AM at the Groman mortuary at Eden Memorial Park in Mission Hills, California.

Michael Todd Simpson will sing the role of Escamillo in The Glimmerglass Festival's production of Carmen beginning July 15, replacing Keith Miller who has withdrawn from the role. The new Anne Bogart-directed production runs through August 23 in the Alice Busch Opera Theater in Cooperstown, New York.

A concert honoring the life and career of the late David Gurland has been scheduled for this coming Monday. The event, DAVID GURLAND: A Celebration, will take place Monday, July 11th, at 7:00 PM in the Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre at 111 West 46th Street. The concert, originally by invitation only, will now have a limited number of tickets available to the public.
