Kenneth Branagh completes his company's first year-long Garrick residency by starring in John Osborne's The Entertainer - once more following in the footsteps of Laurence Olivier. The production is currently in previews, opening to press tonight, and plays until 12 November. It will also be broadcast live to cinemas across the UK and internationally on 27 October.

Now, she's joining Ashleigh Gray and Lizzy Connolly in the European debut of American show Vanities: The Musical at Trafalgar Studios, directed and choreographed by Racky Plews. It follows the travails of three friends as they go from from cheerleading and sororities to jobs, families and hard-won wisdom.

Adam Brace's play has a semi-joking educational sequence that attempts it in four and a half minutes - putting to bed the ubiquitous Um Bongo jingle - but the morass of conflicting information presents a dramatic problem that this witty, engaging but messily sprawling piece can't quite overcome.

Edward Fox is to star in a new play, Sand in the Sandwiches by Hugh Whitemore, which celebrates the life and work of John Betjeman. Directed by Gareth Armstrong, the production will premiere at Oxford Playhouse on 25 October 2016 followed by a UK tour visiting the Minerva Theatre Chichester, Yvonne Arnaud Theatre Guildford, Exeter Northcott Theatre, Salisbury Playhouse and culminating with a final performance at the Folkestone Book Festival on 24 November 2016. He's now working in the rather more intimate Cockpit Theatre, where he stars in the world premiere of Sam Cassidy's rock musical 27, helmed by Arlene Phillips, which begins previews on 8 September.

With over 400 million global users Instagram is one of the top social media networks and ballet in particular has in recent years gradually been building a massive tribal audience across the photo-sharing app.
