Following the receipt of the UK Theatre Promotion of Diversity Award, Curve is to host a national conference exploring diversity in UK theatre and the current landscape for BAME artists, companies and audiences.

Kenneth Branagh completes his company's first year-long Garrick residency by starring in John Osborne's The Entertainer - once more following in the footsteps of Laurence Olivier. The production is currently in previews, opening to press tonight, and plays until 12 November. It will also be broadcast live to cinemas across the UK and internationally on 27 October.

Following the critically acclaimed, sold out productions of The Dazzle and Bug at Found111, Emily Dobbs Productions is thrilled to present the London premiere of UNFAITHFUL, a blackly comic new play starring Sean Campion (The Borgias, Stones in his Pockets), Niamh Cusack (Heartbeat, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time), Ruta Gedmintas (The Strain, The Tudors) and Matthew Lewis (Harry Potter film series, The Syndicate), and directed by Adam Penford (Watership Down, A Small Family Business).

Lauren Samuels became a household name thanks to BBC reality show Over the Rainbow, and has since had starring roles in Bend It Like Beckham, Grease and We Will Rock You in the West End and The Last Five Years at Tabard Theatre. Now, she's joining Ashleigh Gray and Lizzy Connolly in the European debut of American show Vanities: The Musical at Trafalgar Studios, directed and choreographed by Racky Plews. It follows the travails of three friends as they go from from cheerleading and sororities to jobs, families and hard-won wisdom.

Cameron Mackintosh announced today that his acclaimed new production of Boublil and Schonberg's legendary musical MISS SAIGON - a recent smash hit in the West End - will embark on a major UK tour opening at Curve Leicester from Monday 3 July - Saturday 22 July 2017 (press night Wednesday 12 July 2017) before playing Birmingham Hippodrome (26 July - 23 September 2017), Bord Gais Energy Theatre, Dublin (Wednesday 4 October to Saturday 18 November), Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff (29 November 2017 - 6 January 2018), Festival Theatre Edinburgh (17 January - 17 February 2018) and Mayflower Southampton (21 February - 17 March 2018). Directed by Paul Robinson (My Mother Said I Never Should, Land Of Our Fathers) and starring David Fielder and Nigel Hastings, this poignant and uncompromising play was a winner of Theatre503's inaugural international Playwriting Award in 2014 and is a co-production with Bristol Old Vic, in association with Tara Finney Productions.

How long does it take to cover the complex problems in the Congo, AKA the most dangerous place in the world? Adam Brace's play has a semi-joking educational sequence that attempts it in four and a half minutes - putting to bed the ubiquitous Um Bongo jingle - but the morass of conflicting information presents a dramatic problem that this witty, engaging but messily sprawling piece can't quite overcome.

It's the last chance to see sizzling circus and cabaret show Blanc de Blanc following a critically acclaimed run at the London Hippodrome. Blanc de Blanc is closing on Sunday 28 August after coming to London straight from a sold-out run at the Sydney Opera House.

Edward Fox is to star in a new play, Sand in the Sandwiches by Hugh Whitemore, which celebrates the life and work of John Betjeman. Directed by Gareth Armstrong, the production will premiere at Oxford Playhouse on 25 October 2016 followed by a UK tour visiting the Minerva Theatre Chichester, Yvonne Arnaud Theatre Guildford, Exeter Northcott Theatre, Salisbury Playhouse and culminating with a final performance at the Folkestone Book Festival on 24 November 2016. The audience are seated in the pub with the locals while the action kicks off around them. Join the bar's regulars over the course of one furious and fun evening, as a pair of strangers enters their world - and all hell breaks loose. 

One of the more unusual entrants in the centenary Dahl celebrations is immersive dining experience Dinner at the Twits at The Vaults, created by ebp, Les Enfants Terribles and culinary wizards Bompas & Parr in association with Creature of London. Actor and musician Ryan Molloy won praise for his roles in Jerry Springer: The Opera, Taboo, Godspell and On the Town, but he's best known for playing Frankie Valli in Jersey Boys for a record-breaking six years in the West End and on Broadway. He's now working in the rather more intimate Cockpit Theatre, where he stars in the world premiere of Sam Cassidy's rock musical 27, helmed by Arlene Phillips, which begins previews on 8 September.
