From May 7 - June 4, 2016, SpeakEasy Stage Company will proudly present the Boston Professional Premiere of DOGFIGHT, a powerful new musical about unexpected love, loss, and brotherhood, based on the 1991 film starring River Phoenix and Lili Taylor. 

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Casting Society of America has acknowledged the issue of potentially illegal workshops and will establish a committee to investigate this problem. In late March, The Hollywood Reporter launched an investigation into the problem of pay-to-play workshops, and the issue has since come into the public eye.

This is an amusing story of the age-old tale of Boy-Meets-Girl and the complications which ensue wrapped around one of Cole Porter's magical scores. According to The Daily Herald's entertainment section, the Utah Valley Symphony is set to perform THE SECRET GARDEN alongside some performers who have Broadway, Disney, and more on their performing resumes.

The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at the University of British Columbia (UBC) presents the return of singular jazz sensation, Ce?cile McLorin Salvant on May 1 at 7pm in the Chan Shun Concert Hall. The acclaimed Calidore String Quartet caps their artistic residency at Stony Brook University with a Carnegie Hall debut performance on Tuesday, May 10th at 8 p.m. in Carnegie's Weill Recital Hall. The concert propels the quartet into their next high-profile residency with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center II, slated to begin in the 2016 fall concert season. CSQ is the first North American ensemble to be awarded the prestigious Borletti-Buitoni fellowship. 'Jane Eyre' is a musical drama based on the classic novel by Charlotte Bronte - it premiered on Broadway in 2000 and received five Tony Awards, including 'Best Musical'. The Barn Players' presentation of the musical opens today, Friday, April 15th and continues through Sunday May 1st at the Barn Players Theatre, 6219 Martway in Mission. The play is rated 'PG' and features husband and wife, Alisha and Matt Richardson, in starring roles; Alisha as Jane Eyre and Matt as Rochester.

Master vocalist and Symphony Siren Diva N'Kenge (Motown: The Musical and Sondheim and Sondheim) comes to Sarasota, FL for the first time debuting with conductor Jack Everly at the Sarasota Symphony for the exciting The Beat Goes On show, set for tonight, Friday and tomorrow, Saturday, April 15 - April 16, 2016 (8:00pm).

Actors' Summit Akron's Professional theater's 1980 Pulitzer Prize winning play Talley's Folly, by Lanford Wilson opens tonight. A dessert reception with the director and cast follows the performance on opening night. The show runs until May 1.

Gettysburg Community Theatre, the non-profit 501c3 organization located in the original Elks Lodge building at 49 York Street within the first block of Lincoln Square in historic downtown Gettysburg, presents an all-youth cast production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's classic musical The King And I with special permission from the Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization in NYC.
