Last night's BRIGHT STAR audience was pleasantly surprised at the start of Act 2 when Steve Martin joined the band onstage for the Entr'acte. Martin, who wrote the show's book and composed the music with Edie Brickell, played the banjo. Check out footage from the surprise performance below!

convergence-continuum continues its 2016 Season with Edward Albee's THREE TALL WOMEN. Our modern American classic for this season earned a Pulitzer and three Best Play awards for 1994. Edward Albee has, in THREE TALL WOMEN, created a masterwork which follows a feisty 92-year-old woman's reflections on her family, now departed or estranged, and how it has shaped her life, a life filled with a mixture of shame, pleasure, regret, and satisfaction. The three women are 92, 52 and 26 years old. At one point they are three different women, but eventually they become the same women at three different stages of her long and turbulent life.

The award-winning composer of the Off-Broadway hit “The Lightning Thief” is bringing his brand of smart musical theatre rock back to London for a one-night only concert. The New York Times praised Rokicki's work as “sassy” and “energetic” and Mark Shenton calls Rob 'an engaging new New York singer songwriter who has been developing a number of fresh sounding musicals Off-Broadway.' Sally Six String, an original play with music, is set to open at CAP21 on Saturday June 4th and run through Sunday June 5th. The cast features 20 up and coming teen and tween actors from the NYC, CT, NJ, PA area and also boasts a small adult cast of 5 talented, veteran actors.

Victoria Playhouse Petrolia opened its 2016 last night to a sold out crowd with Scotland Sings. While the spirit of celebration filled the air in Petrolia, Co-Artistic Director David Hogan spoke of those affected by the fires in Fort McMurray, Alberta. In his pre-show chat with the audience, he announced that all proceeds from the Opening Night performance will be donated to the Canadian Red Cross to aid in relief in Fort McMurray.
