Twenty-nine local students from the Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA) will travel to Walt Disney World during the April school break to perform for Disney audiences and participate in master classes with Disney performers, choreographers and directors. This is FSPA's 21st year of Disney performances as part of the Disney Performing Arts Program.

FSPA musical theater troupes Broadway Light and Broadway Bound, as well as the senior dance company, CenterStage, will entertain at the Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney) Waterside Stage. Performances are on Monday evening, April 18 at 5:15 (CenterStage), 6:15 (Broadway Bound) and 7:15 (Broadway Light) and on Tuesday afternoon, April 19 at 2:30 (CenterStage), 3:30 (Broadway Bound) and 4:30 (Broadway Light). The FSPA students also will participate in Disney's Broadway Magic, Disney Dancin' Jazz Technique, and Acting 101 workshops with Disney performers, directors and choreographers.

FSPA performing troupe and dance company members are selected at the beginning of each academic year by audition. The ensembles offer outstanding training and performing opportunities throughout the year.

The Disney-bound FSPA students are Madi Asgeirsson, Jason Barney, Lily Barney, Julia Buccella, Brooke Collins, Kendra Dombroski, Mia Fleischer, Aaron Frongillo, Jocelyn Jones, Sydney Leach, Catherine LeClair, Shaina McGillis, Lauren Szczepanowski, Katharine Waples, Caitlin Woodcock and Melissa Wyner of Franklin; Caroline Merten and Joey Soares of Hopedale; Sam Evans and Colie Vancura of Medfield; Ally Lynch and Maddy Williams of Medway; Katie Gray of Milford; Kylee Rollins of North Attleboro; Naomi Fitzgerald, Mairead Nee and Griffin Wilkins of Walpole; and Susuana Wickstrom and Jenna McDermott of Wrentham.

The musical theater ensembles will be accompanied by FSPA Director Raye Lynn Mercer on piano, FSPA faculty member Kenny Hadley on drums, and bassist Mark Poniatowski and guitarist Mark White, both of the Berklee College of Music.
