Main Street Theatre Works (MSTW) kicks off its 2016 Summer Season at the Kennedy Mine Amphitheatre in Jackson, with The Explorers Club, by Nell Benjamin. The Explorers Club is a comedic look at Victorian adventurers who ponder the mysteries of science and nature, while genteelly getting blotto. What better opportunity for you to pack a picnic dinner, your favorite beverage and take in all the crazy adventures of these infamous explorers. The Explorers Club runs every Friday and Saturday, June 24th - July 23rd. Doors open at 6:30 for picnics; show starts at 8:00. Patrons are encouraged to come early with their dinners, chairs and jackets. The Kennedy Mine Amphitheatre is located at 1127 North Main Street in Jackson.

In honor of RENT's 20th anniversary, Adam Pascal stopped by the Richard Rodgers Theatre for a special digital #Ham4Ham show. Joined by original RENT guitarist Kenny Brescia and Alex Lacamoire, Adam Pascal and Lin-Manuel Miranda sang a rousing rendition of 'What You Own.' Check out the video below!

The guest list includes Erik Altemus, Lindsay Nicole Chambers, Benny Elledge, Christopher Hanke, Travis Kent, Patti Murin, Ryann Redmond, and Prescott Seymour.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBC has ordered a BLACKLIST spinoff series, entitled BLACKLIST: REDEMPTION. The series will premiere in the 2016-2017 season and feature Famke Janssen and Blacklist star Ryan Eggold. It will be NBC's sixth new drama of next season.

On CBS Sunday Morning last month, Louis C.K. talked Broadway with Charlie Rose. The comedian discussed potentially writing and starring in a play, aiming for Broadway. He also elaborated on his previously-made comments about how he always cries at the beginning of a play. Check out the video below!

The premiere recording of ASCAP award-winning writer/director Chip Deffaa's musical play 'Irving Berlin: In Person,' which was developed at the 13th Street Theater in New York City, will be released June 3rd.  Jed Peterson, who's starred Off-Broadway in such shows as 'Hard Times' and 'Nevsky Prospect,' and has been featured on television's  'Madame Secretary,' stars as Mr. Berlin.  Richard Danley is musical director.  Choreography and tap-dancing are by Rayna Hirt.  Hawkins Gardow is special guest artist. Music preparation is by Donald Brown.   Peter Charney and Matthew Nardozzi are assistants to the producers.  The CD, being distributed exclusively in the United States via CDBaby, will be available on CDBaby.com, Amazon.com, iTunes, Footlight Records, Google Music, etc.

Last night's BRIGHT STAR audience was pleasantly surprised at the start of Act 2 when Steve Martin joined the band onstage for the Entr'acte. Martin, who wrote the show's book and composed the music with Edie Brickell, played the banjo. Check out footage from the surprise performance below!

convergence-continuum continues its 2016 Season with Edward Albee's THREE TALL WOMEN. Our modern American classic for this season earned a Pulitzer and three Best Play awards for 1994. Edward Albee has, in THREE TALL WOMEN, created a masterwork which follows a feisty 92-year-old woman's reflections on her family, now departed or estranged, and how it has shaped her life, a life filled with a mixture of shame, pleasure, regret, and satisfaction. The three women are 92, 52 and 26 years old. At one point they are three different women, but eventually they become the same women at three different stages of her long and turbulent life.

Sally Six String, an original play with music, is set to open at CAP21 on Saturday June 4th and run through Sunday June 5th. The cast features 20 up and coming teen and tween actors from the NYC, CT, NJ, PA area and also boasts a small adult cast of 5 talented, veteran actors.

Donny Most, best known as "Ralph Malph" of the long- running hit television show Happy Days, and his 7-piece band, bring the songs of Sinatra, Darin, Martin, and more to life through his interpretations and creative arrangements. The swing era and 50?s cool are fused together in one very unique show. The next engagement of their show will be held at Vitello's on Tuesday, May 10th.

Victoria Playhouse Petrolia opened its 2016 last night to a sold out crowd with Scotland Sings. While the spirit of celebration filled the air in Petrolia, Co-Artistic Director David Hogan spoke of those affected by the fires in Fort McMurray, Alberta. In his pre-show chat with the audience, he announced that all proceeds from the Opening Night performance will be donated to the Canadian Red Cross to aid in relief in Fort McMurray.
