On Saturday, April 16th, 25 metro area high schools continued their journey toward scholarships, prizes and money for their performing arts programs by competing at the St. Louis Teen Talent Showcase Semifinals. Area performing arts professionals judged the groups and narrowed them down to 12 that will move on to the finals on Friday, May 6th at 8pm at The Fabulous Fox Theatre (list of schools attached). The final competition is a Broadway style show and FREE to the public. Tickets are available at no charge at The Fox box office and through Metrotix (via phone and online)

Show at Barre welcomes Wayne Brady, star of Broadway's Chicago, RENT at the Hollywood Bowl, and most notably TV's Whose Line is It Anyway? and The Wayne Brady Show. Brady will be debuting his brand new cabaret concert with Show at Barre for two nights only, Sunday, April 17 and Monday, April 18, with musical direction by Ben Toth.

Financial woes have taken their toll on the Tony-winning Intiman Theatre, which will cancel the rest of its season and lay off all of its employees, according to the Seattle Times. Intiman's board made the decision Saturday morning.

The Lost Treasures Collection, a new series of rarely performed musical gems presented in concert/cabaret version on Lakewood Theatre Company's Side Door stage, presents its third and final offering this season with the musical Greenwillow. In A N O N Y M O U S, renowned artist Jaume Plensa presents works on paper and sculpture, using his signature multidisciplinary approach and interest in the collective experiences and memories across cultures and time. The exhibition at Galerie Lelong coincides with the presentation of Plensa's monumental sculpture Echo, opening May 5 at New York's Madison Square Park. In Echo and the works featured in A N O N Y M O U S, Plensa conveys notions of the individual and humanity as both distinctive and universal. A N O N Y M O U S opens at Galerie Lelong on Friday, May 6 from 6 to 8 pm, and the artist will be present.

Musical Theatre West's Footlighters Guild announced the winners of their annual Footlighters Scholarship competition. Each year the Musical Theatre West Footlighters present five $1,000 scholarships to high school students in the Los Angeles County and Orange County school districts.
