Hot on the heels of its April/May success, this new version of Chris Wallace's show opens at The Butterfly Club in South Melbourne on Tuesday, 9th August and runs through Sunday, 14th August. TALL POPPY BLUES is wall-to-wall Chris Wallace songs. The music varies from country to gospel to jazz to ballads to show tunes to kids' songs and even has a tap number thrown in for good measure- something for everyone. This is not an evening of nostalgia. This is an original and unique marriage of musical theatre and cabaret. If Musical Theatre and Cabaret had a baby, this would be it!

Rehearsals are underway for Union Avenue Opera's (UAO) final production of the 2011 Summer Season. Having received exceptional reviews for Puccini's Turandot and Rossini's La Cenerentola (Cinderella), UAO will take on the challenge of presenting the Missouri premiere of Jake Heggie's Dead Man Walking, an opera The Associated Press regards as 'the most compelling new American opera in decades,' and The Washington Post identifies as 'an impressive piece of work.'

Splash's Musical Mondays is proud to present a very special edition of 'Curtain Call' with Spiderman star Brandon Rubendall. On August 22nd, directly following the video clip extravaganza, host Emily McNamara welcomes Brandon to the Splash stage as he makes his 'Curtain Call' debut.

Dundalk Community Theatre will hold auditions for their production of THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, with direction and choreography by Tom Wyatt. The audition accompanist will be Doug Lawler.

Two highly respected contemporary artists and choreographers, Jodi Melnick and David Neumann, come together for the first time in an exclusive mixed bill engagement at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, August 10-14 in the Doris Duke Theatre. In her Pillow debut performance, two-time Bessie Award-winner Jodi Melnick presents Fanfare, a sophisticated dance of rhythm and gesture set against a kaleidoscope of light and sculpture designed by visual artist Burt Barr. Neumann and his company, Advanced Beginner Group, also take the stage with signature wry humor and creativity in Hit the Deck and Tough the Tough. This exclusive program also includes the world premiere duet, July, commissioned by Jacob's Pillow, and choreographed and performed by these two original artists.

The Hollywood Bowl's production of HAIRSPRAY reunites original Broadway stars Harvey Fierstein and Marissa Jaret Winokur. Both Fierstein and Winokur, playing mother Edna Turnblad and daughter Tracy Turnblad, were awarded Tony Awards for best leading actor in a musical and best leading actress in a musical respectively for their appearances in HAIRSPRAY on Broadway. This is the first time that they have performed these roles together in Los Angeles; this is also Fierstein's Hollywood Bowl debut.

The last time fans saw True Blood character Russell Edgington, Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) had sealed him in a cement grave, but he promised he'd return.

The Amoralists are proud to present HotelMotel, a site-specific theatrical event featuring the New York Premiere of Animals and Plants, written and directed by Obie Award-winner Adam Rapp, and the World Premiere of Pink Knees on Pale Skin, written and directed by Derek Ahonen. HotelMotel runs Off-Broadway from August 4 - 29, 2011 at The Gershwin Hotel, located at 7 East 27 Street between Madison & Fifth Avenues in New York City. Previews began August 4 for an August 10 opening.

As we all know, after considerable critical and audience acclaim and after being extended three times at The Players Theatre, and after 18 acclaimed months and 180 sold-out performances, 'THE ACCIDENTAL PERVERT' Andrew Goffman's hilarious tour-de-force-of-honesty and mega-comedy has moved to the THIRTEENTH STREET THEATRE (50 West 13th Street - between 5th and 6th Avenues) where it began performances on Friday, July 15 and will continue to play through Saturday, December 10th with the option to continue through 2012.

Lesley Heller Workspace is proud to present the work of Loren Munk, whose paintings exist at the intersection of art and information, and DON'T FENCE ME IN... OR OUT, a group show of young female artists, curated by Lisa Corinne Davis and featuring the work of Katherine Behar, Rachel Budde, Dawn Frasch, Jaeeun Lee, Suko Presseau, Satomi Shirai, Sarah Young and Amanda Valdez.

This summer, California youth and the Pasadena Musical Theatre Program (est. 1995) will workshop Ryan Scott Oliver's brand new Jasper in Deadland, August 5 and 6.
