Due to excessive heat, our Free Shakespeare at the Highland Park Bowl production of Richard III is cancelled for this evening, Tuesday, July 17. We have three more performances scheduled: Tomorrow (Wednesday) July 18, Friday July 20 and Saturday July 21. All performances are at 8:00 PM at the Highland Bowl, 1200 South Avenue, Rochester NY.

Fountain Gallery, located at 702 Ninth Avenue and representing artists with mental illness, today announced the upcoming opening of Hot in Hell's Kitchen. This group exhibition will be on view from July 19 through September 12, 2012, with an Opening Reception on Thursday, July 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. Hot in Hell's Kitchen is curated by Carolina Penafiel, Director and founder of Local Project, a non-profit art space located in Long Island City, Queens, which since 2003 has provided a platform for emerging artists.

Primary Stages Einhorn School of Performing Arts (ESPA), the company's professional training school, has announced its Fall 2012 schedule of classes now open for enrollment. ESPA will offer new classes including Comedy Writing, Advanced Libretto and Lyric Writing and Dialects 2: Russian. ESPA will also be offering two new workshops: Writing for TV: Making the Transition from Stage to Screen and The Pilot. Additionally, Tanya Barfield, whose show The Call is part of Primary Stages mainstage 2012-2013 season, will be teaching a special workshop, Finding Your First Draft.

48 solo singers are competing in the fifth annual "MetroStar Talent Challenge" at The Metropolitan Room, 34 West 22nd Street. The seven-week, jury-and audience-voted competition completes three weeks of trials next Monday July 23 (showtime at 7pm), after which the contest will announce the Top 18 contestants who will advance to the next round.

Smokey Robinson, "King of Motown," returns to the Hollywood Bowl stage for his orchestral debut with the Los Angeles Philharmonic led by Sarah Hicks, Friday and Saturday, July 20 and 21, at 8 pm. The multiple-award winning vocalist, whose music industry career has endured for more than half a century, last appeared at the Hollywood Bowl in 2010 as part of the Jazz at the Bowl series.
