In honor of its 10th Anniversary Season, the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center in downtown Appleton will host a variety of Signature Events inviting local artists and audiences to be part of a yearlong celebration at the Center. Events include a free 10th Anniversary Open House in August, collaborative community performances featuring local arts organizations and ROAR: A 10th Anniversary Safari Event in connection with Disney's The Lion King.

Theatre In The Park has announced that Executive and Artistic Director Ira David Wood III, best known and loved for portraying the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge in his musical adaptation of A Christmas Carol, and his wife Ashley Mattox Wood are proud parents.

Due to excessive heat, our Free Shakespeare at the Highland Park Bowl production of Richard III is cancelled for this evening, Tuesday, July 17. Fountain Gallery, located at 702 Ninth Avenue and representing artists with mental illness, today announced the upcoming opening of Hot in Hell's Kitchen. This group exhibition will be on view from July 19 through September 12, 2012, with an Opening Reception on Thursday, July 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. Hot in Hell's Kitchen is curated by Carolina Penafiel, Director and founder of Local Project, a non-profit art space located in Long Island City, Queens, which since 2003 has provided a platform for emerging artists.

Primary Stages Einhorn School of Performing Arts (ESPA), the company's professional training school, has announced its Fall 2012 schedule of classes now open for enrollment. ESPA will offer new classes including Comedy Writing, Advanced Libretto and Lyric Writing and Dialects 2: Russian. ESPA will also be offering two new workshops: Writing for TV: Making the Transition from Stage to Screen and The Pilot. Additionally, Tanya Barfield, whose show The Call is part of Primary Stages mainstage 2012-2013 season, will be teaching a special workshop, Finding Your First Draft.

48 solo singers are competing in the fifth annual "MetroStar Talent Challenge" at The Metropolitan Room, 34 West 22nd Street. The seven-week, jury-and audience-voted competition completes three weeks of trials next Monday July 23 (showtime at 7pm), after which the contest will announce the Top 18 contestants who will advance to the next round.
