Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great kicks off the 2012-2013 Walnut Street Theatre for Kids Season at the Walnut on Saturday, September 22 with performances at 10:30 am, 1:00 pm and 3:30 pm.

For the second year, Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts is partnering with Arizona State University Herberger Institute's School of Music to present ASU Concerts at the Center, a series of 12 Monday-evening concerts and informal educational talks, which begin Sept. 10 with Steinway Artist and ASU Professor of Music Walter Cosand performing the music of renowned French composer Claude Debussy.

The Alluvium Group, in association with Oracle Productions, will present HAPPINESS: THE PURSUIT & OTHER TRAGEDIES. This world premiere musical parable is brought to life by seven performers and a live band through Oracle B*Sides, a department at Oracle that gives more artists the opportunity to produce free art in Public Access Theatre. HAPPINESS opens October 5, and runs through October 19. Performances at Oracle Theatre are Thursdays through Saturdays at 8PM, Sundays at 5PM. The Commonweal Theatre Company, located in historic downtown Lanesboro, has been the recipient of grant monies totaling nearly $50,000 during the first half of 2012. Now in its twenty-fourth season, the Commonweal continues to serve as a cultural, educational, and economic asset to the region. Currently, the non-profit theatre is in the midst of its summer repertory, featuring two plays: romantic-comedy The Philadelphia Story, and zany spy-story spoof, The 39 Steps.

Artists Rep begins their 30th Anniversary season on September 4 with the World Premiere of Aaron Posner's And So It Goes…, directed by Posner. This quirky love letter to the human race flows from Kurt Vonnegut's first collection of short stories, Welcome to the Monkey House. Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra (LACO) Music Director Jeffrey Kahane announces the appointments of Robert Brophy, viola (Los Angeles 90042); Sandy Hughes, flute (Portland, OR); Carrie Kennedy, violin II (Pasadena); and Joel Pargman, violin II (Pasadena) to LACO's roster, one of the nation's leading orchestras renowned for its wide-ranging repertoire and adventurous commissioning initiatives. The 2012-13 season marks the first full season with the Orchestra for Brophy, Kennedy and Pargman; and the first time that Hughes has performed with LACO. Kennedy and Pargman are husband and wife.

Singer and songwriter Greg Lake tours the UK and Europe in Songs of a Lifetime, described as 'a shared musical journey and performance experience, which received rave reviews from fans and critics alike in North America.' The tour begins this November 2012 in the UK.

The 19th Season of Broadway Onstage Live Theatre and the 32nd Season of Dennis Wickline Productions, Inc. continues with the award-winning comedy GOD OF CARNAGE, by Yazmina Reza as translated by Christopher Hampton, when it opens on Friday, September 7 at the Eastpointe Theatre. Running Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Select Sundays at 2pm, this comedy tells the story of two couples coming together to discuss an altercation between their respective children in a nearby park. The production runs through Saturday, October 6.

Ballet Hispanico, recognized as the preeminent Latino dance institution in the United States, announces a Bessie Award Nomination for company member Jessica Alejandra Wyatt. Ms. Wyatt was nominated for a Bessie Award for Outstanding Performer (of a work that stretches the boundaries of a traditional or culturally specific form) for her performance in Asuka by Eduardo Vilaro, performed by Ballet Hispanico at the Apollo Theater.

Young Czech conductor Jakub Hr?ša will replace Ji?i B?lohlavek who is now unable to visit Australia due to ill health. Jakub Hr?ša will conduct two thrilling and exclusive Australian performances by the Czech Philharmonic, one of the world's great orchestras, at 2pm Sunday 26 August and 8pm Monday 27 August.

Russell Granet, nationally known for his work in arts education, has been named Executive Director, Lincoln Center Institute (LCI), it was announced today by Reynold Levy, President, Lincoln Center.
