Music Director David Hayes has announced the New York Choral Society's (NYCS) 54th concert season. The season opens September 11 with a performance at St. Patrick's Cathedral, under the auspices of the September Concert Foundation, in commemoration of those affected by the 9/11 tragedy. The NYCS will perform the Gloria in Excelsis from Vivaldi's Gloria, excerpts from Morten Lauridsen's Lux Aeterna, and the American Spiritual, Do Lord Remember Me, arranged by Andre J. Thomas.

Hartford Stage has been nominated for a chance to be awarded a portion of a $5 million grant from the Chase Community Giving program. The Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) has selected Academy Award winner F. Murray Abraham as the 2012 recipient of The William Shakespeare Award for Classical Theatre(Will Award). Abraham will be honored at the Harman Center for the Arts Annual Gala hosted by STC at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW) on Monday, October 15, 2012. This year's Gala will be inspired by Shakespeare's great characters.
