Music Director David Hayes has announced the New York Choral Society's (NYCS) 54th concert season. The season opens September 11 with a performance at St. Patrick's Cathedral, under the auspices of the September Concert Foundation, in commemoration of those affected by the 9/11 tragedy. The NYCS will perform the Gloria in Excelsis from Vivaldi's Gloria, excerpts from Morten Lauridsen's Lux Aeterna, and the American Spiritual, Do Lord Remember Me, arranged by André J. Thomas.

On November 11, NYCS will appear as guest performers for the 19th time at the Richard Tucker Music Foundation Gala at Avery Fisher Hall. The NYCS will appear with Andre Bocelli at the Barclays Center on December 5. For the holiday season the Choral Society returns to Carnegie Hall on December 18 with L'Enfance du Christ by Hector Berlioz and O magnum mysterium by Jennifer Higdon. The season concludes on April 25 at Avery Fisher Hall with Vaughan Williams' A Sea Symphony and Beethoven's Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage.

2012-13 marks the first season for David Hayes as Music Director.
