Artistic Director Darko Tresnjak and Managing Director Michael Stotts today announced that playwright Matthew Lopez, author of this past season's The Whipping Man, will be the 2012-13 Aetna New Voices Fellow at Hartford Stage. The announcement comes on the heels of former Aetna Fellow Quiara Alegria Hudes winning the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in April.

The Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA) welcomes two new faculty members to the Dance Department for the 2012-2013 school year. Beginning this September, Cathy Hazeltine Fallon, Instructor of Children's Dance and Ballet, and Jennifer Markham, Instructor of Ballet, will teach in Franklin and at the school's new satellite location in downtown Hudson. FSPA's Dance Department offers programs for all ages and levels in ballet, jazz, modern, tap, hip hop and lyrical, including classes specifically for boys, adults and beginner teens.

The Fun Company prides itself on producing quality family theater for children of all ages. Last season the Fun Company produced two original shows, one original adaptation, and took a turn at Commedia Del Art. The result was one of the most successful seasons the Fun Company has ever had. This season Julie Heber, director of the Fun Company, plans to follow the same formula. This season, the Fun Company will once again present two original shows, an original adaptation, and a piece of Commedia Theater.

Lyric Opera of Chicago and the Chicago Federation of Musicians Local 10-208, A.F. of M. (CFM) have reached a tentative contract agreement for the 2012/13 through 2014/15 seasons. LiveWire Chicago Theatre kicks off its 2012-13 season with the Chicago premiere of THE MISTAKES MADELINE MADE, a savagely funny story of love and dirty people by Elizabeth Meriwether, creator and writer of the hit FOX sitcom New Girl and Heddatron, and directed by LiveWire Collective member Krista D'Agostino. This quirky dark comedy plays October 3 - November 3, 2012 at the Greenhouse Theater Center Upstairs Studio, 2257 N. Lincoln Ave. in Chicago. The production features LiveWire Artistic Director Joel Ewing and LiveWire Associate Artistic Director Chris Zdenek with Kristin Collins, Fred Geyer and Hilary Williams. Bucks County Playhouse has announced a special two day engagement of A.R. Gurney's Love Letters, starring theatre, television and film legends Tyne Daly and James Earl Jones. Love Letters will be performed on Saturday, October 20th at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, October 21st at 2:00 p.m. at the Bucks County Playhouse (70 South Main Street). Following the Saturday evening performance, there will be a benefit reception underwritten by The Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm (barleysheaf.com) to honor the cast and raise money for the Playhouse.
