The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) announced today that due to the storm, the deadline for submissions to the Next Link Project, which guarantees production slots in the 2013 Festival, has now been extended by one week to November 12th. The 2013 New York Musical Theatre Festival, NYMF's tenth season, will run July 8 - July 28, 2013. For more Next Link Project info and submission guidelines, visit www.nymf.org.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts will officially open its renovated Theater Lab on November 12, 2012 at 6 p.m. with a performance of music and poetry. The evening will feature Grammy®-nominated jazz vocalist Gregory Porter in a performance curated by award-winning actress, director, playwright, and Artistic Director of the DC Hip-Hop Theatre Festival Kamilah Forbes. The program will blend Porter's music with the spoken word, highlighting works and performances by some of today's most innovative female poets, including Holly Bass, Mahogany Browne, Vanessa Hidary, and Kelly Zen-Yie Tsai. The one-hour performance will be streamed live on the Center's website and archived for future viewing.

The Des Moines Community Playhouse is the home for Second Saturday, 7:30-10:00 PM, Saturday, Nov. 10. Second Saturday is an alternative Saturday night entertainment for young people in grades 6-12. Cost is $8. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged, and is available online at dmplayhouse.com.

Zelda at the Oasis, a new play by P. H. Lin, directed by Andy Sandberg (The Last Smoker in America), will celebrate its New York Premiere on Friday, November 16th when it begins previews at St. Luke's Theatre, 308 West 46th Street, in the heart of Times Square. The official opening is Tuesday, December 4th at 7 PM. Zelda at the Oasis, which features Edwin Cahill and Gardner Reed, is an open-ended engagement.

On Thursday, November 15 from 5:30-7:30 p.m., tickets for the 22nd annual Jump Back Ball go on sale at a kickoff party at the Market Garden Brewery Ohio City Room (1947 W. 25th St.). Themed "Jump Back Two Spaces," Jump Back Ball is set for Saturday, February 23, 2013. Jump Back Ball tickets will be available for purchase in person only for $135 with no handling fees ($110 for Partners members). There is a two ticket limit per person.

"Last Comic Standing" and "Chappelle's Show" veteran, Kyle Grooms, will bring his stand-up routine to New England this December. Grooms will be showcasing his act for four shows on the Comix At Foxwoods stage, beginning Thursday, Dec. 6 at 8 p.m., with additional shows Friday, Dec. 7 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 8 at 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. General admission tickets are on sale now for $20 ($30 the day of), and VIP admission tickets for $40 ($50 the day of). A two-drink minimum applies to all tickets. The show is 21+ and is for mature audiences only.

DEAD ACCOUNTS star Judy Greer will appear tonight on "The Late Show with David Letterman" (airing locally at 11:35 PM on WCBS-2). Greer is currently is rehearsals for DEAD ACCOUNTS which begins previews Monday, November 5 and will open Thursday, November 29 at Broadway's Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street).

The Heiress stars Academy Award nominee Jessica Chastain as Catherine Sloper, Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award winner David Strathairn as Dr. Austin Sloper, the leading man of "Downton Abbey" Dan Stevens as Morris Townsend and Tony Award winner Judith Ivey as Lavinia Penniman. Written by Ruth & Augustus Goetz, The Heiress is directed by two-time Tony Award nominated playwright and director Moises Kaufman.

Former JERSEY BOYS cast member, John Michael Coppola, will be returning to the material that brought him to Chicago with the debut of a new JERSEY BOYS tribute performance to benefit the Chicago JCC. The one night only event takes place on Saturday, November 3rd, 2012 at 7:30 pm at the Drake Hotel in downtown Chicago, IL. Dancing to the TVK Orchestra will follow the special tribute performance.
