The Huntington Theatre Company brings Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer Prize-winning Our Town home to Boston on its 75th anniversary in a landmark staging by Obie Award winner David Cromer (Tribes, Adding Machine). The remount of the acclaimed New York production that features a homegrown cast will inaugurate the Huntington's use of the intimate, 250-seat Roberts Studio Theatre in the Huntington's Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA.

The Utah Shakespeare Festival just finished its largest and most successful season to date for the summer and fall of 2012. The unofficial tagline of this season was, "the only thing bigger than 50 is 51" and the cast, crew, directors, designers, and management certainly lived up to the challenge. Ben Fulton from the Salt Lake Tribune said it best, "No relaxing. No easy breaks. Sundance Institute today announced the seven artists selected for its 2013 Playwrights Retreat at Ucross Foundation, February 4-22, 2013. The annual writing colony at the 20,000-acre working cattle ranch outside of Sheridan, Wyo. provides a supportive environment for artists to create new work and receive guidance and reactions to it at an early stage. Under the supervision of Philip Himberg, Artistic Director of the Theatre Program, and Producing Director Christopher Hibma, the Playwrights Retreat is made possible through the generosity of Ucross Foundation.

The first show in Playhouse on Park's Children's Series "Miss Nelson is Missing" is scheduled for 13 public performances from November 10th through November 19th. Miss Nelson is Missing, the staged theater production written by Joan Cushing, is based on the very popular children's book of the same name written by Harry Allard and James Marshall. The play is geared towards children in grades K through 5 but is sure to entertain and interest audiences of all ages!

Due to a delay in the start of technical rehearsals caused by last week's storm, Lincoln Center Theater has announced that its been forced to postpone previews, by one night, of its 75th Anniversary production of the Clifford Odets classic GOLDEN BOY, directed by Bartlett Sher. Previews will now begin this Friday, November 9 at 8pm, having been originally scheduled to begin Thursday, November 8. Opening night for GOLDEN BOY will remain as originally scheduled, on Thursday, December 6 at 6:45pm, at the Belasco Theatre (111 West 44 Street), the same theatre where the play premiered in 1937. Ticket holders to the November 8 performance should return their tickets to their point of purchase for a refund or exchange.

The Jewish Museum will launch its new season of The Wind Up, a series of after-hours events with art, music, performance, drinks, socializing and more on Thursday, November 15 from 8 to 11 pm with CROSSING BORDERS: AN INTERNATIONAL BEER FESTIVAL. This international beer tasting is being co-organized by Shmaltz Brewing Company and the New York City Brewers Guild, featuring domestic brews such as He'brew Hop Manna, He'brew Genesis, and Messiah as well as a selection of beers from England, Germany, Belgium, and Italy. In addition, the virtuoso brass band Slavic Soul Party! will perform its unique brand of Balkan and Gypsy sounds melded with American jazz and soul. Complimentary snacks will be served, and there will be an open bar.
