Kimmel Center Creative Music Program for Jazz Announces Monthly Meet the Master SeriesNovember 6, 2012The Kimmel Center's Creative Music Program for Jazz continues its popular Meet the Masters series engaging 25+ regional student musicians, ages 11-17, in master class workshops led by world renowned jazz musicians. On Saturday, November 10, the Meet the Masters workshop is led by one of the top tenor saxophonists and flautists, Gary Thomas, in the Merck Arts Education Center from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Legendary jazz trumpeter and composer Ralph Alessi leads the master workshop on Saturday, December 22. These sessions are open to the public for interested musicians, students and teachers and jazz aficionados who would like to observe.

LCT Postpones First Preview of GOLDEN BOY to FridayNovember 5, 2012Due to a delay in the start of technical rehearsals caused by last week's storm, Lincoln Center Theater has announced that its been forced to postpone previews, by one night, of its 75th Anniversary production of the Clifford Odets classic GOLDEN BOY, directed by Bartlett Sher. Previews will now begin this Friday, November 9 at 8pm, having been originally scheduled to begin Thursday, November 8. Opening night for GOLDEN BOY will remain as originally scheduled, on Thursday, December 6 at 6:45pm, at the Belasco Theatre (111 West 44 Street), the same theatre where the play premiered in 1937. Ticket holders to the November 8 performance should return their tickets to their point of purchase for a refund or exchange.
