Better Nate Than Ever, the debut novel by Broadway dancer Tim Federle, will be released February 5, 2013 from Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers, it was announced today. Better Nate Than Ever has already been praised by Tony and Oscar-winning composer of Newsies and Beauty and the Beast Alan Menken as "A smash hit! If there was a Tony Award for books, it would go to Better Nate Than Ever." The book will launch at the MTI Junior Theater Festival in January, for an audience of over 4500 theater-loving kids.

Dallas Theater Center will present Dickens' classic tale, A Christmas Carol, at the historic Kalita Humphreys Theater. DTC Associate Artistic Director Joel Ferrell will direct and choreograph this festive holiday story of redemption and forgiveness that has become a holiday tradition for DTC and for theater-goers across North Texas. This year marks the eighth and final season for this version of A Christmas Carol, which runs from Tuesday, November 20 - Sunday, December 23. American Lyric Theater continues its popular series of public libretto readings, The Living Libretto, at the National Opera Center beginning November 11, 2012. Featuring guest actors from the Broadway and off-Broadway stage, each event is the culminating reading of extensive libretto workshops conducted for new operas currently being written by ALT Resident Artists.

The national tour of the Broadway musical MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, inspired by the electrifying true story, will make its Philadelphia premiere Dec. 11 - 16 at the Forrest Theatre as part of the Broadway Season presented by The Kimmel Center and The Shubert Organization. he Second Annual International Puerto Rican Heritage Film Festival (IPRHFF) is scheduled for Friday, November 16th at the Mount Sinai Medical Center (Leo C. Stern Theater). The 2012 IPRHFF will showcase pioneering, historically significant films and documentaries, contemporary shorts and features, and other innovative films. Every film will either focus on Puerto Rico and its people or will have personnel of Puerto Rican descent in key roles (production and/or acting). Panel discussions throughout the day will explore film industry related topics, scrutinize the challenges and potential for young Latino filmmakers, and consider the context of Puerto Ricans in the cinema today. Finally, receptions and after-parties throughout the weekend will give participants an opportunity to celebrate their Heritage and network with other industry professionals.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey announced today that its acclaimed, record-breaking production of Man of La Mancha will perform for an additional week-through Sunday, November 25th-at Shakespeare Theatre's Main Stage, the F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre, 36 Madison Ave. (at Lancaster Road) in Madison. Tickets for all performances are now on sale and can be purchased by calling the box office at 973-408-5600 or by visiting www.ShakespeareNJ.org. Performances are Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday at 7:30 p.m.; Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. The additional week will include performances on Tuesday evening, Friday evening, Saturday matinee and evening and Sunday matinee and evening. Tickets range from $50 to $80; student rush tickets are available 30 minutes prior to curtain for $10.

The San Francisco Early Music Society announces its annual Christmas concert performed by the Bay Area's Musica Pacifica. The distinguished chamber ensemble offers a festive tour of Christmas music from 18th-century England, France, Germany, and Italy. Special guests Clara Rottsolk, soprano, and Washington McClain, oboe, join the core group of Judith Linsenberg, recorder, Elizabeth Blumenstock, violin, Charles Sherman, harpsichord, and Josh Lee, cello and gamba. Their program will include traditional English carols, French noëls from Corrette and Charpentier, H.I.F. Biber's 'Nativity' Sonata from his famous set of 15 Mystery (or Rosary) Sonatas, Antonio Vivaldi's vivacious chamber concerto La Pastorella, and sacred sonatas and arias from Handel, Telemann, and Bach.

A Christmas Story, The Musical arrives on Broadway at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre just in time for the 2012 holiday season. The new musical, based on the 1983 movie perennial, the musical begins performances November 7 at 7PM. The eight-week limited engagement runs through December 30. Opening night is Monday, November 19.
