Jessica Lewis Jessica has worked in theater for nearly ten years. She has worked in theatrical production for the producers of STOMP, DAMN YANKEES, NUNSENSE, DINNER WITH FRIENDS and more, and for over 5 years has been involved in the Whoopi Goldberg-produced White Noise, having discovered the production at the 2006 New York Musical Theatre Festival. She has since helped foster its growth through multiple large-scale workshops and two major commercial productions as an Associate Producer. After dedicating many years to theatrical and live entertainment production work that has taken her all over the world in 2009 she assumed the post of Senior Managing Editor at BroadwayWorld.com, the largest theater site on the net, for which she controls operations, routinely interviews Broadway's A-list talent and films/edits a bulk of the sites popular BWW TV content. She is a graduate of Brown University and has worked professionally in production for the Brown University Department of Theatre, Speech and Dance, Rights and Reasons Theatre, the New York Theatre Workshop and more.

As previously announced, television and movie star William Shatner will bring his one man show SHATNER'S WORLD: WE JUST LIVE IN IT to cities across the U.S. in 2012. Tickets for all cities go on-sale the weekend of February 3rd. The tour follows a three week run at Broadway's Music Box Theatre from February 14 - March 4.

Lincoln Center's acclaimed series American Songbook has returned to the Allen Room for its fourteenth season celebrating the diversity of American popular song. For 16 nights the series is exploring the best of the golden age of musical standards through to today's most dynamic songwriting. The series continued on January 21, with a concert by Michael Cerveris.

The producers of the national tour of THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, and Denver Center Attractions have confirmed today that show show sold out its three-week engagement within 5 hours after tickets went on sale yesterday, January 24 at 10am. THE BOOK OF MORMON will play the Ellie Caulkins Opera House from August 14 -September 2, 2012. Following the Denver engagement, THE BOOK OF MORMON tour will play the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles for a twelve week run from September 18 through November 25, 2012. Tickets for the Los Angeles engagement will go on sale soon.

Sophie Evans has just announced via her Twitter that she will be filling in Danielle Hope's ruby slippers in the West End production of The Wizard of Oz on February 7, 2012. Evans was the runner up in the BBC reality talent competition show, Over The Rainbow, which tracked Andrew Lloyd Webber's search for his new Dorothy.

The cast led by four-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald (Ragtime, 'Private Practice') as Bess, Drama Desk nominee Norm Lewis (Les Misérables, Sondheim on Sondheim) as Porgy and two-time Tony nominee David Alan Grier (Race, 'In Living Color') as Sporting Life. According to a report out today on Yahoo!, Theatre ranks among the 'most useless' college majors, along with concentrations in fashion, animal science and farming. Yahoo! states: 'Consider the National Association of Colleges and Employers' (NACE) 2012 Job Outlook study, which surveyed almost 1,000 employers on their future hiring plans. Many areas of study, such as fashion design and the performing arts, didn't even make the list.'

Among the highlights are a partnership with the Edinburgh Underbelly for five new productions to premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and a production of Morgan Lloyd Malcolm's new musical, Epidemic.

The Bridge Project is a unique three-year series of co-productions by BAM, The Old Vic, and Neal Street, devoted to producing large-scale, classical theater for international audiences. The final season of The Bridge Project featuring Kevin Spacey, Artistic Director of The Old Vic, in the title role of Richard III, opened at The Old Vic in London on June 29, 2011 and began performances at BAM on January 10, 2012. The show officially opens on January 18, 2012. The Bridge Project is directed by Academy Award-winner Sam Mendes with whom Kevin Spacey worked on the award-winning film American Beauty. Libra Theater Company will present Songs You Should Know, a concert of new and rarely performed songs by some of today's most prolific music theater writers. BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Laura Osnes is starring as Cinderella in the Mark Brokaw-helmed new Broadway-bound production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's CINDERELLA. The musical is being produced by Robyn Goodman and Aged in Wood Productions. The reading began yesterday, January 12 and runs through the end of next week. No announcements for Broadway casting have been made and an Osnes spokesperson could not confirm her participation beyond the reading.
