The series kicked off last night, January 11, with a concert by Lin-Manuel Miranda. The evening opened with a surprise appearance by his In The Heights co-star, Mandy Gonzalez, for a remix of Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' Gotham anthem, 'Empire State of Mind'.

According to an Equity Chorus Call notice, SUPER FLY, the musical based on the 1972 film directed by Gordon Parks, has taken new steps toward a Broadway production. The Mottola Group and The Dodgers Developmental Lab are now seeking actors for a March 12 - April 14, 2012. Chorus auditions will be held on January 24, 2012 at Chelsea Studios. This workshop is being held in anticipation of a future Broadway run as the notice states. Bill T. Jones is on board to direct and choreograph.

My first introduction to Mark Fisher Fitness was this photo. A friend and colleague had just completed a several month stretch of fitness training with the muscle toning guru and posted this shot on Facebook. Masterworks Broadway has just announced the signing of the Original Cast Recording of Once, a new musical. The album will be recorded on Tuesday, January 17 in anticipation of a March 2012 release, in time for the show's Broadway opening on March 18, 2012.

REBECCA, based on the classic novel by Daphne Du Maurier novel, will open on Broadway Sunday, April 22 at The Broadhurst Theatre. Previews will begin Tuesday, March 27. The Broadway marquee is up and BroadwayWorld brings you a look below!

BILLY ELLIOT played its final performance on Broadway last night, January 8, 2012 after three fantastic years and countless memories. For the final show, the current cast of Billys (and Michaels) alternated scenes in the show.
