Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced the casting of Tony and Emmy Award nominee Jeffrey DeMunn as Willy Loman in the Globe's upcoming revival of Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman. DeMunn currently stars as Dale in the hit AMC TV series 'The Walking Dead' and was nominated for a Tony Award for his harrowing performance in the Broadway production of K2. The complete cast will be announced at a later date. Directed by Pam MacKinnon, Death of a Salesman will run in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre Jan. 22 - Feb. 27. Preview performances run Jan. 22 - Jan. 26. Deadline.com reports today that Mandy Patinkin will team up with Claire Danes for a new Showtime drama series, Homeland. According to the report: 'Homeland centers on American POW Scott Brody, who returns home 10 years after going missing in Iraq, and Carrie Anderson (Danes), a driven CIA officer who suspects he might be plotting an attack on America. Patinkin will play the smart and politically savvy CIA Division Chief emeritus Saul Berenson who is Carrie's main champion in the intelligence upper echelon and her sounding board.'

Bucks Country Playhouse owner/producer Ralph Miller has just announced that he will be resigning from his post of the historic theater after 35 years due to financial troubles. His struggles to maintain the theater financially began in 2008.

Signature Theatre Company's production of Tony Kushner's ANGELS IN AMERICA: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes, began performances Tuesday, September 14. The first New York revival of Kushner's Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning play is directed by Michael Greif. The production, originally slated to run through December 19, has been extended a second time through February 20, 2011. Two time Tony Award-winning Goodspeed Musicals, under the leadership of Michael P. Price, is thrilled to announce the 2011 musical season at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, Conn. The 48th season includes three fantastic musicals that are sure to delight theatregoers: the tap dance filled Gershwin tuner My One And Only will run from April 15 - June 25; the monumental American classic Show Boat featuring such memorable songs as 'Ol' Man River', and 'Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man' will run from July 1 - September 11; and the film noir style musical comedy City of Angels will run from September 23 - November 27.

As viewers and now non-viewers alike know, Conan O'Brien has enjoyed parodying Julie Taymor's production of SPIDER-MAN regularly on his late night show. In fact, as BroadwayWorld has previously reported, the team behind the Broadway musical SPIDER-MAN hasn't been amused by the constant late-night jokes about the show and recently sent bouquet of flowers from the production which said, 'We hope you enjoy the flowers. It was cheaper than a cease-and-desist.'

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS has just wrapped the 22nd Annual GYPSY OF THE YEAR COMPETITION at the New Amsterdam Theatre. The competition began yesterday, December 6. The proceeds from the event, a dazzling once-a-year variety show filled with lavish musical numbers, original skits and Broadway stars, will benefit BC/EFA. This year's GYPSY OF THE YEAR was hosted by Broadway personality Seth Rudetsky ('Seth's Big Fat Broadway' on Sirius/XM Satellite Radio). The results are in and the grand total raised for BC/EFA amongst Broadway, Off-Broadway and touring shows is $3,776,720!

Variety reports today that GLEE star Chris Colfer will be making his film debut in Struck by Lightning, a comedy produced by David Permut ('Youth in Revolt'). Colfer wrote the script for the film, which will go into production next summer with a director to be announced. No other casting details have been released.
