What did our critic think of THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR SHOW at Imagination Stage? Four stories from iconic children’s book author Eric Carle, 75 puppets, and even a bubble party – what could go wrong? Spoiler alert: nothing. Everything goes right.
If you have a kid in elementary school, the wildly popular Dory Fantasmagory book series is likely on your radar. What you may not be aware of is there is a stage show based on the books. Recently, my son and I caught Dory Fantasmagory making its East Coast premiere. It was silly, funny, and, maybe most importantly, my five-year-old sat through the entire show and never once asked to even so much as go to the bathroom. Win!
What did our critic think of DRAGONS LOVE TACOS at Adventure Theatre MTC?
Doktor Kaboom (and no, I didn't spell that wrong) is a man of science...it says so right on his lab coat. With that in mind, I knew my 7-year-old son was going to love this show, and I was right. In fact, I've seen many shows at The Kennedy Center's Family Theater, and this was the best one!
She Persisted is a best-selling book by Chelsea Clinton, and the musical SHE PERSISTED at Adventure Theatre MTC completely does the book justice.
If you ever find yourself in Bethesda, Maryland, with children, you should also find your way to Imagination Stage.
What did our critic think of KNUFFLE BUNNY: A CAUTIONARY MUSICAL at Adventure Theatre & ATMTC Academy?
Miss Nelson is Missing by Harry Allard is a beloved children’s book that’s been read in homes and schools for decades. My 7-year-old son jumped at the chance to see the story being performed at Imagination Stage in Bethesda, Maryland and, in the end, turned to me and said unprompted, “I liked that play.”
What did our critic think of SING DOWN THE MOON: APPALACHIAN WONDER TALES at Adventure Theatre & ATMTC Academy?
Colorful, bright, and moving — some words I’d use to describe Junie B. Jones The Musical. The music grabs you right off the top and the energy carries through until the end. Never a dull moment.
The musical The Girl Who Became Legend showcases the strength and bravery of a young girl, the power of big dreams and even addresses the topical issue of book banning.
What did our critic think of THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE AT ADVENTURE THEATRE at Adventure Theatre & ATMTC Academy?
What did our critic think of A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD at Imagination Stage?
What did our critic think of REVIEW: LOOK BOTH WAYS: A TALE TOLD IN TEN BLOCKS AT THE KENNEDY CENTER at Kennedy Center?
Seeing the caterpillar made my son's jaw literally drop open! Now playing at Imagination Stage in Bethesda, Maryland, the ravenous insect is the headliner with opening acts of three other Eric Carle stories.
Director Janet Stanford brings the beloved book series character Nate the Great to life on stage and the kids love it.
THE FISHERMAN AND HIS WIFE asks kids to get involved in the play! It's fun for the young audience with a couple adult-geared jokes sprinkled in.
From the moment Madison Palomo (Belinda) hit the stage, my son was hooked.
