Fresh from its sold-out run at the 2009 New York International Fringe Festival, Gregg Greenberg's comedy-drama CLEMENZA & TESSIO ARE DEAD returns with a look at mob life from the bottom up. Starring Frank Senger*, Anthony Gallo and Troy Dane*, this tale of two men's attempts to climb the criminal corporate ladder begins performances December 2nd at the Shell Theater, at 300 West 43rd Street. The show is directed by Frank Senger and produced by Gregg Greenberg. The production is an Equity Showcase.

The National Tour of HAIR Will Perform at the Marcus Center in Milwaukee 2/22-2/27

The producers of the Public Theater's Tony Award-winning production of HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical are pleased to announce casting for the National Tour, which is coming to the Marcus Center on February 22 and runs through February 27, 2011. Yoko Nagae Ceschina, a patron of the New York Philharmonic since 2004, will give a significant annual gift to name the position of Music Director Alan Gilbert. The Yoko Nagae Ceschina Music Director - the first such designation for a Music Director of the New York Philharmonic - has been created to support Mr. Gilbert's artistic vision. Ms. Ceschina, a native of Japan and a trained harpist, a friend of Zarin Mehta and Mr. Gilbert, and of the Philharmonic, has provided major support for several of its Gala Opening Night concerts and initiatives of Alan Gilbert. Ms. Ceschina provided the lead underwriting gift for the Philharmonic's historic performance in Pyongyang, North Korea, in February 2008.

Southern Theater Holds Benefit Event for Krista Langberg, Terry Chance, and Family 12/4

The benefit event is a benefit for Krista Langberg, Terry Chance, and their family. Krista, a longtime member of the Minnesota dance community, and her husband Terry are both battling cancer. This event is a 100% volunteer effort, including the generous contribution of the Southern Theater as a venue. All donations go directly to Krista and Terry and their family.

NY Philharmonic To Receive Cultural Ambassador Award from Asia Society, Nov. 16

The New York Philharmonic will receive the Asia Society's Cultural Ambassador Award at a black-tie dinner at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel on Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at 6:30 p.m. The Asia Society's Annual Awards Dinner recognizes extraordinary individuals who have contributed to promoting understanding between Asians and Americans. The Philharmonic is being cited for its bridge-building concerts across the globe, particularly its historic concert in Pyongyang, DPRK, in February 2008, and its debut in Hanoi, Vietnam, in October 2009. At the dinner, two members of the Philharmonic - Assistant Concertmaster Michelle Kim and violist Vivik Kamath - will perform two works, including the well-known Korean folk song, Arirang, which they played with the Orchestra in Pyongyang.

Boston Theatre Team Up to present CIRCLE MIRROR et al This Fall

As previously announced, three Boston theatre companies will engage in a landmark local collaboration this fall to produce breakout writer Annie Baker's first three plays - Circle Mirror Transformation, produced by the Huntington Theatre Company (October 15 - November 14), Body Awareness, produced by SpeakEasy Stage Company (October 22 - November 20), and The Aliens, produced by Company One (October 22 - November 20). All set in the fictional town of Shirley, VT, the plays will run together in the first-ever festival dedicated to the work of this wryly observant young writer, which will be curated by the Huntington Theatre Company.
