The fall temperatures may be getting colder, but the DC area theatre scene is heating up with many musicals, including a new "intimate" production of a 1927 American classic, a Tony-Award Winning family saga, and so many choices - well - take a look for yourself at what this diverse theatre community has to offer in November. This is a great time to celebrate the upcoming holidays with your family, so bring the kids, grandparents, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and cousins to see that Orphan girl and her dog, a Disney heroine, and enjoy an early Christmas, and many more shows to bring in the cheer and joy of the holiday season. The New Mel Brooks MusicAl Young Frankenstein, a new musical comedy from the creative team of the 12-time Tony Award-winning smash The Producers, opened on Broadway November 8th 2007 at the Hilton Theatre and opened its national tour at the Providence Performing Arts Center on September 29th, 2009.

Is the Windy City's hit production of the comic farce, 'Don't Dress For Dinner' setting its sights on making a 'reservation' on Broadway in 2010?

The Donmar Warehouse production of Hamlet, starring Jude Law and directed by Michael Grandage, has fully recouped its $2.5 million capitalization costs as of the week ending November 1, officially entering the hit column. The production, which began performances on September 12 and opened October 6, is playing a limited run through Sunday, December 6 only at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street).

Presented in association with Ontological-Hysteric Theater, previews for IDIOT SAVANT continue through November 3. The show opens officially tonight, Wednesday, November 4 and runs through Sunday, December 13.

The new Broadway production of RAGTIME is in previews at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 West 52 Street) and officially opens on Sunday, November 15, 2009.
