Tony And Olivier Award winning actor Michael Crawford has been President of The Sick Children's Trust since 1987 and on Tuesday, July 28th, he made a special visit to Eckersley House to help boost the current fundraising efforts. Crawford visited St James' Eckersley House as part of 'The Big Move Campaign'. Eckersley House, which provides overnight accommodations for the families of the children, will be moving to the Leeds General Infirmary.

oodspeed Musicals, the only two time Tony Award winning theatre in the country, is presenting the classic Camelot. This legendary musical from the director who brought you Goodspeed's 1776 and Big River will run from July 10 - Sept. 19 at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, Conn. The Canadian Press reports that theatre impresario Garth Drabinsky has been sentenced to seven years in prison for a massive fraud, while his partner Myron Gottlieb has been sentenced to six years.

The First Wives Club - A New Musical will extend its run by an additional week due to popular demand. The Broadway-bound musical features a book by Tony Award winner Rupert Holmes and a score by Brian Holland, Lamont Dozier and Eddie Holland. Directed by Francesca Zambello with choreography by Lisa Stevens and music direction by Ron Melrose, The First Wives Club will now run through Aug. 30.

This summer the Greendale Community Theatre presents the regional premiere of RENT, written by Jonathan Larson. The musical, based on Giacomo Puccini's opera La Boheme, tells the story of a group of friends dealing with addiction, friendship, death, grief, and, ultimately, love.
