Returning after his acclaimed Beethoven Sonata Cycle two seasons ago, Hungarian pianist András Schiff revisits Walt Disney Concert Hall to pay tribute to Schumann during his bicentennial year, Wednesday, October 13, at 8 p.m. The recital program features the German composer's Waldszenen, Op. 82, Davidsbündlertänze, Op. 6, Kinderszenen, Op. 15, and Symphonic Etudes, Op. 13. The performance is the first event of the Los Angeles Philharmonic's 2010/11 Colburn Celebrity series, which features some of the world's leading virtuosos.

Albertina Walker died today in Chicago after a battle with emphysema. She was 81 years old. Hailed as the Queen of Gospel, Walker was known for forming the Caravans, the popular gospel act in the '50s that helped launch the careers of artists such as Inez Andrews, Shirley Caesar, James Cleveland, and Cassietta George. The group's classic recordings include songs such as 'Blessed Assurance,' 'Mary Don't You Weep,' 'Soldiers In The Army,' and 'Solid Rock.' As a solo artist, Walker won a GRAMMY for Best Traditional Soul Gospel Album in 1994 for Songs Of The Church - Live In Memphis.

Legendary singer-songwriter Barry Manilow's non-profit organization, the Manilow Music Project (www.manilowmusicproject.org) put more than $500,000 worth of musical instruments into the hands of 15 Clark County School District middle schools and high schools during a ceremony on Thursday, October 7 at Valley High School in Clark County, Nevada. Reinvigorating the school system's music program at a critical time of need; this is the single largest donation of its kind in Clark County history for a music program. 'The happiest mayor in the world,' Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman, was also on hand, as the five semi-trucks left directly from the event to drop the brand new instruments at schools across Clark County.

truTV has ordered a third season of its hit original series ALL WORKED UP and has given the greenlight to the spinoff series LIZARD LICK TOWING. The network ordered 13 episodes for the third season of ALL WORKED UP, the series that follows regular working people who endure being yelled at, insulted and sometimes even assaulted ... all before their first coffee break. truTV has also ordered six episodes of LIZARD LICK TOWING, which centers on a North Carolina repossessing and towing company that was one of the most popular fixtures in the first season of ALL WORKED UP. Both series are slated to air in early 2011.
