Equally at home in the world of jazz and cabaret, singer/pianist Daryl Sherman is internationally acclaimed for a stellar 14-year run at the Waldorf-Astoria where she played Cole Porter's Steinway. Last June, she headlined the annual Cole Porter Festival in his hometown of Peru, IN. Sherman has performed at The Algonquin's Oak Room where the Village Voice touted her as 'someone who fits the room like Derek Jeter fits the Yankees.' She's also worked at Feinstein's, Rose Hall with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Dizzy's Coca Cola and 59E59 Theaters where she was lauded for her band singer role in a centennial tribute to Artie Shaw.

A BARREN MAN is the story of a young Orthodox man living in Crown Heights who is tormented by his sexual identity, repressed urges, and inability to procreate with his spouse of two years. Desperately longing to save his marriage and preserve his faith, the young man seeks counsel outside Crown Heights. Set against the backdrop of the highs and lows of New York's same-sex marriage legislation, A Barren Man conveys the dangers of self entrapment, the lengths one must go for personal freedom, and the desire to become complete.

CIRQUE DREAMS will let its imagination go wild when entertaining thousands of U.S. troops and their families throughout the world in conjunction with Armed Forces Entertainment beginning January 2012. The Boca Raton Theatre Guild announced the plays it has selected for its 2011-2012 season: Sarah Jones' Bridge and Tunnel, Charles Busch's Tales of the Allergist's Wife, the musical Sweet Charity, and Paulette Dozier in Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill. They will all play at the Willow Theatre in Boca Raton's Sugar Sand Park.

On September 15, Louis Armstrong comes back to life at the Orlando Shakespeare Theatre where Dennis Neal stars in the world premiere of Terry Teachout's Satchmo at the Waldorf, a one-man play about the most beloved jazzman of all time. Set at New York's Waldorf Astoria Hotel, where Louis 'Satchmo' Armstrong performed in public for the last time before his death in 1971, Satchmo at the Waldorf is a theatrical tour de force, a play in which the same actor portrays Armstrong and Joe Glaser, the trumpeter's controversial manager. Inspired by their actual words, the play takes a searching look at the complex relationship between the genius from New Orleans who turned jazz into a swinging art form and the hard-nosed, tough-talking ex-gangster from Chicago who made him an international icon.

Mosaic Theatre, the award-winning professional Equity theatre at American Heritage launches its Eleventh Anniversary Season with Michael Weller's critically acclaimed drama Side Effects (September 15 - October 9), a provocative companion piece to Fifty Words by the author of Loose Ends and Moonchildren. Side Effects is 'one of the best plays of the year,' raves the Times Square Chronicle, 'a play that is a must see!'

TV Star Ella Joyce headlines the 4th Annual Aurora Jacksonville Black Arts Festival, July 22-24, 2011. Actress Ella Joyce, best known for her co-starring role of Eleanor on FOX TV's 'Roc', and Jasmine on 'My Wife & Kids, captures the famous moment in the life of Rosa Parks, affectionately called 'Mother of the Civil Rights Movement', in her highly acclaimed, one-woman play A Rose Among Thorns, a Tribute to Rosa Parks; Created & Performed by ELLA JOYCE and Directed by Dan Martin. Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF begins its 2011-2012 Signature Series with Oscar Wilde's THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, a rousing escapade of romance, mistaken identities and comic twists, playing at the John and Rita Lowndes Shakespeare Center from September 14 - October 9, 2011.

The participants include Infinite Abyss Productions, Thinking Cap Theatre, Immeasurable Theatre, The Alliance Theatre Lab, Three Lefts Productions; theatre artists Vanessa Garcia, Lea Roy, Bradford Sadler and Wendy White. Vocalists Lisa Kerstin Braun, Jeanne Lynn Gray, and John Lariviere will provide pre-show solo concerts on separate nights.*

A multi-faceted singer/actress renowned for her sultry alto voice and dynamic stage presence, Paulette Dozier infuses every one of her performances with a depth far beyond the usual - her voice has been called ‘deep, steady, and sexy'. Dozier's repertoire combines the greatest jazz standards with today's edgy and contemporary sounds.
