THE PEARL THEATRE COMPANY (J.R. Sullivan, Artistic Director; Shira Beckerman, Managing Director) proudly presents Henrik Ibsen's passionate and haunting ROSMERSHOLM, adapted by Mike Poulton. The production, beginning November 12 at New York City Center Stage II, will be directed by Elinor Renfield and feature Austin Pendleton, as previously announced. Director Renfield along with the design team spoke about the production.

Featuring an all-star cast led by Steve Blanchard as 'Adam' (who played 'The Beast' for eight years in Disney's Beauty and the Beast on Broadway, 'Pa Ingalls' in the National Tour of Little House on the Prairie, and 'Lancelot' in the National Tour of Camelot) and Abby Mueller as 'Milly' (who played 'Meg' in Marriott Theatre's Little Women and 'Constance' in Chicago Shakespeare's The Three Musketeers), SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS opens October 20 and runs through December 19 at Drury Lane Theatre, 100 Drury Lane, Oakbrook Terrace, IL. Tickets are already selling briskly.

The Tony Award-winning AVENUE Q will celebrate its first anniversary at New World Stages (340 W. 50 St.) in Manhattan on October 21, 2010. After a triumphant, six-year run on Broadway, AVENUE Q continued its record of unexpected accomplishments last fall when the show's producers made the surprise announcement on the musical's Broadway closing night that they were, in fact, moving AVENUE Q to New World Stages, a mere five blocks away from the Golden Theatre, where the show had delighted audiences of all ages for more than 2,500 performances on Broadway. AVENUE Q began preview performances at New World Stages on October 9, 2009, officially opened on October 21, and continues to play to large and happy audiences one year later.

The world premiere production of 'Venice' opens this Sunday (October 17) at 6:30 p.m. Currently in previews through October 16, the new musical with book by Eric Rosen, music by Matt Sax and lyrics by Matt Sax and Eric Rosen, and additional music by Curtis Moore, is presented by Center Theatre Group at the Kirk Douglas Theatre as a co-production with Kansas City Repertory Theatre. 'Venice' continues through November 14.

The Metropolitan Opera will premiere a new production of Mussorgsky's Boris Godunov on October 11, starring René Pape as Boris and conducted by Valery Gergiev. Pape, who has performed the title role to great acclaim in his native Germany, will make his American role debut under the baton of Gergiev, widely recognized as the world's leading conductor of Russian opera. Stephen Wadsworth, who won praise for his productions of Rodelinda and Iphigénie en Tauride in recent seasons, will direct the Met's first new production of the opera since 1974.
