Broadway vet Paul Rudd will be teaming up with Zach Galifianakis yet again for the upcoming comedy 'Will,' which Perez Hilton summarizes as centering around 'Rudd whose life and destiny is being written by a scribe in Heaven played by Galifianakis. But one day the scribe stops writing and it's up to Rudd to go on about his day on his own.' Demetri Martin wrote the script and Little Miss Sunshine's Valerie Faris and Jonathan Dayton are directing.

Last night's two-hour season premiere of the ninth season of American Idol still garnered masterful ratings, despite recent shakeups and changes. With Paula Abdul's departure and Simon Cowell's very recent announcement that he, too, is leaving the show, American Idol still was the most watched show of the night with 29.9 million viewers.

Lookingglass Theatre presents the world premiere of Trust, written by David Schwimmer and Andy Bellin, and directed by Schwimmer and Heidi Stillman. Trust is based on the screenplay by Andy Bellin and Rob Festinger. Schwimmer has previously directed a film version of Trust starring Clive Owen and Catherine Keener.

Food for Thought Theatre opens their twenty-first season with the American premiere of the Noel Coward play Star Chamber starring Tammy Grimes, John Shea, Frances Sternhagen, KT Sullivan, and directed by Antony Marsellis. Star Chamber is a comedy which takes place on the stage of a West End theater and involves a cast of actors from the 1930s.

Hampstead Theatre today announced that Edward Hall has been appointed Artistic Director and Chief Executive of Hampstead Theatre, taking over from Anthony Clark at the end of January. Hall's inaugural season will be announced later this spring/early summer to open in the autumn of that year.

Tony Award Winner Kristin Chenoweth, who is currently developing a feature film based on the life of Dusty Springfield, told E! News back in April that she'd love to have Kerry Washington (currently starring in David Mamet's RACE on Broadway) play her lesbian lover in the film. E! caught up with Washington recently and she was delighted with the idea. She told E! 'It's very exciting. I feeling like I've been waiting to make out with her forever.'

Sarah Paulson will guest star on tonight's episode of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, playing the role of murder suspect in her parent's murder. Lost's Naveen Andrews also guest stars in tonight's episode as a detective called in to help solve the case.

Two of the biggest names in Hollywood, Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts, are teaming up again for the upcoming film 'Larry Crowne.' Hanks, who has written the script, will also direct the film. This will be his first directing stint in over a decade (he directed 'That Thing You Do' in 1996). The plot for 'Larry Crowne' involves a middle-aged man who is forced to find a new career.

Longtime casting director Shirley Rich passed away on December 28th, 2009 at the age of 87 in Greenwich Connecticut of natural causes. Referred to by the New York Times as the 'doyenne of New York casting directors,' Rich's career covered Broadway plays and Hollywood films, with actors such as Judd Hirsch, Sean Penn, and Tom Cruise.

Theatre Plus will present the world premiere of Sweet Tooth by Mark Wild, February 4-20, 2010. The new comedy was selected as one of only three Finalists in the 2008 Maxim Mazumdar New Play Competition and will be directed by Lorna C. Hill. The show will play at Alleyway Theatre in Buffalo's Historic Theatre District. Sweet Tooth is the third production of Theatre Plus' fourteenth season dedicated to presenting theatre that focuses on the talents and interests of women.
