The Wiener Staatsoper will open its new season again this year with an Open Door day. Visitors have the chance, to have a look behind the scenes and see all the departments of an opera house, which are usually closed to the public. Individual departments will introduce themselves, members of the ensemble will be rehearsing, and one can enjoy small programmes of music. Choir and orchestra rehearsals, ballet rehearsal and a rehearsal of the opera school of the Wiener Staatsoper are on the programme as well as a look into the Music Archives and a small exhibition of precious costumes. The technical show, which introduces the possibilities of the stage machines, the acoustics and lighting departements will finish off the day of Open Doors.
