The livery of the richest man in Vienna is busy trying to set up the stage for a scheduled show at the Palace of their Lord. Behind the scenes, the two dedicated forces make their preparations: one to the debut of a young composer, the Opera Ariadne auf Naxos, to play bring, the other a dancing masquerade in Italian Buffo style. Before a cave on the shores of the island of Naxos, Ariadne waiting the death, since she was abandoned by Theseus, her rescuer and lover.
