The Butterfly Glee Club to Hold Fundraising Trivia Night at Melba Spiegeltent

The Butterfly Glee Club is celebrating its eleventh year by hosting a cabaret trivia night at the Melba Spiegeltent in Collingwood. Hosted by cabaret superstar Chelsea Plumley, and featuring a plethora of incredible prizes, the annual event is raising funds for a much needed new rehearsal piano at The Butterfly Club.

Glee Club is the brainchild of Melbourne musical director and pianist Vicky Jacobs, who has worked on such shows as Jersey Boys, Wicked and Fiddler on the Roof. Since launching in 2005, it has attracted over 1000 members, with between 50 and 70 coming to its weekly get-togethers at The Butterfly Club.

"The key to Glee is that there is no obligation to come each week, people can sing with a cocktail in hand and can sing as loudly or softly as they like," says Jacobs, "We seek no commitments, and there are no rules. It is a chance to get together and sing in whatever way makes you feel happy".

On the 13th of February, the Glee Club will be taking over the Melba Spiegeltent for an all-singing, all-smiling trivia extravaganza, all in pursuit of a new rehearsal piano for their home at The Butterfly Club. Boasting a wide array of impressive prizes donated by the Melbourne Gin Company, Fowles Wines, Circus Oz and, of course, The Butterfly Club.

"Glee Club is a proud permanent fixture on our weekly calendar," says Simone Pulga, Director of The Butterfly Club, "We are overwhelmed by their kindness and thrilled about replacing our rehearsal piano - something that will benefit hundreds of performers in the years to come".
