The Green Room Awards on Monday were a landmark night for The Butterfly Club, with 7 Cabaret awards out of 8 going to former Club performers:

Yana Alana and the Paranas bring home 6, confirming their status as one of today's most relevant Cabaret acts. Emily Taylor receives the award for Innovative Use of Form, reminding performers everywhere that there's more than one way to use a 50-seater.

Kaye Sera of Kaye Sera's BiZARRE gets the award for Contribution to Cabaret, and is quick to acknowledge The Butterfly Club as the inspiration for her jewel of a showroom.

In Musical Theatre, the award for Female Artist - Leading Role goes to Verity Hunt-Ballard of Mary Poppins, who some will remember on stage at The Butterfly Club as a young WAAPA graduate a few years ago.

The Butterfly Club remains the best place to see who's coming up in the scene, with 600 shows a year presenting the work of over 150 acts. The next feature show is Simon Taylor - Pieces of Mind, running for 24 shows as our headline act for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
