MTC to Bring School Holiday Events to Westfield Shopping Centres

By: Sep. 17, 2015

Ahead of the Australian premiere of The Boy at the Edge of Everything next week, Melbourne Theatre Company is bringing a taste of outer space to Westfield shopping centres with a special family friendly activity in time for the spring school holidays.

From Saturday 19 September - Tuesday 22 September, Westfield Southland and Westfield Knox will be a hub for family fun and creativity, as The Boy at the Edge of Everything activity zone lands at the popular shopping destinations, jam-packed with exciting experiences including a Cosmic Crafts station to create space helmets.

This special school holiday activity is inspired by Finegan Kruckemeyer's charming play, The Boy at The Edge of Everything, which recently won the 2015 AWGIE Award for Best Children's Theatre. Kruckemeyer also secured the prestigious 2015 David Williamson Prize In Celebration and Recognition of Excellence in Writing for Australian Theatre.

The Boy at the Edge of Everything is MTC's 2015 family production for ages 8 and up and follows the adventures of a boy named Simon Ives, whose busy life is turned upside down when he meets another boy on the opposite side of the cosmos.

The play makes its Australian premiere next Wednesday 23 September at Southbank Theatre, The Lawler and will run until Saturday 3 October. The performance runs for 65 minutes and tickets are $35.

The location and opening hours of the The Boy at The Edge of Everything's Cosmic Crafts activity are:
