Jesus Christ Superstar is a rock opera by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber, set against the backdrop of the last week of Jesus Christ's life as seen through the eyes of Judas Iscariot. Loosely based on the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, the story is told entirely through song and explores the personal relationships and struggles between Jesus, Judas, Mary Magdalene, his disciples, and the Roman Empire. The iconic 1970s rock score includes well-known numbers such as Superstar, I Don't Know How to Love Him, and Gethsemane. The production is directed by Jamie Rogers.
