Texas Performing Arts to Open 2014-15 Season with BASETRACK LIVE, 9/11-13
By: Tyler Peterson
Texas Performing Arts opens the 2014-2015 Season with the world premiere of BASETRACK LIVE, a multimedia experience that delves into the human cost of war, September 11-13 at McCullough Theatre. This multimedia theatrical production uses live music, journalism, and technology to spark a conversation about the legacy of war.
BASETRACK LIVE is adapted from the popular Facebook page and website of photographs and videos taken by embedded journalist Teru Kuwayama, who launched the pages to enable military families to communicate with their loved ones in Afghanistan during 2010 and 2012. The photographs and videos posted set into motion a social media effort that attracted over 5,000,000 hits.
