Bass Concert Hall to Welcome Los Lobos with Ballet Folklorico Mexicana, 2/11
The Mexican-American Experience is celebrated through song, dance, music and film highlighting the many notable achievements and contributions of Mexican-Americans throughout US History in this brand-new multi-media production, featuring Multiple Grammy-Award Winners Los Lobos and dancers from Ballet Folklorico Mexicano.
More than three decades have passed since Los Lobos released their debut album, Just Another Band from East L.A. Since then this multiple Grammy-award winning band from east Los Angeles, California have repeatedly disproven that title. Los Lobos isn't "just another" anything, but rather a band that has consistently evolved artistically while never losing sight of their humble roots.
Founded in 1967 by Carlos Moreno Samaniego, the Ballet Folklorico Mexicano has achieved recognition both in the United States and in Mexico. In 1980, the Mexican consulate in San Francisco named the company the official ambassador for ongoing cultural activities with Mexico. It has held that distinction for over twenty years during which time it regularly conducts tours in Mexican cities such as Guadalajara, Oaxaca, Aguascalientes, and Durango.
In addition to $10 tickets for primary, secondary, or college students, Texas Performing Arts is now offering a limited number of $12 tickets to active and retired military personnel for all 2015-2016 season performances (excludes Broadway and special engagements).
