Travel Writer Lawrence Millman Gives Reading at Emory 2/6
Adventure travel writer Lawrence Millman gives a free reading at Emory University Monday, February 6 at 6:30 p.m. in the Jones Room of the Woodruff Library on Emory's campus. A book-signing will follow the event.
Millman is the author of eleven books, including "Our Like Will Not Be There Again," "Northern Latitudes," "A Kayak Full of Ghosts" and "Lost in the Arctic." The recipient of a Northern Lights Award and a Pacific-Asia Gold Travel Award, Millman's works have been anthologized in "The Best American Travel Writing" three years in a row. Millman holds a Ph.D. in Literature from Rutgers University.
As an explorer, Millman has made over forty trips and expeditions to the Arctic and Subarctic. He also actively pursues mycology and has studied fungi all over the world, but especially in his own backyard of New England.
Also during his visit to Emory, Millman will hold a colloquium on Tuesday, February 7 at 2:30 in N301 Calloway Center (537 Kilgo Circle, Atlanta, GA 30322). Millman will answer questions and discuss his life as a writer. This event is free and open to the public.
