Stevie Hawkins new single from his third studio album, What The Funk? is the upbeat, "Good Times". While Stevie Hawkins has become noted for his live performances, his debut album "Georgia Jam" features some of the best live jams of Southern Rock, his studio album "High Time" was one of really showcasing Stevie's vocal and drumming talent as it fused rock, blues, and even a little jazz into a soulful mix. Now comes "What the Funk?", a natural progression for Stevie Hawkins who has a perfect soul/blues voice and with The Combined vocal talents of Soul Diva's Jocelyn Brown and Sista Monica, What The Funk makes for some of the best combinations in soul/funk history.

From the opening notes of "Good Times", the first single release being given away by Emphasis Records as a free promotion for a limited time, you know you are in for a very good time. Says Stevie, "I personally think that we should listen to the music that moves us. I grew up listening to the masters of Soul, Rhythm and Blues. We should not shut out music because it doesn't currently get played on the radio or come with a name that pens it in to a demographic. Many of the songs on this record are the kind of funk that makes you want to get up and move, Good Times embodies the overall feel and is a great choice for a giveaway because I'd like to get everybody in the mood."

The album, "What The Funk?", with its strong melodic basslines reminiscent of noteworthy funk bassists like Bootsy Collins and Larry Graham of Sly & the Family Stone, stays true to the distinctive elements of funk by creating as strong a groove as possible.
