Horizon Theatre's COWGIRLS Opens Tonight
Galloping onto the Horizon stage, it's Classical versus Country in the hilarious musical Cowgirls by Betsy Howie and Mary Murfitt. It's a romp for the whole family when a trio of classical musicians wind up accidentally booked as the featured act for the grand re-opening of a once Opry-esque roadhouse. The Coghill Trio has been mistaken for the Cowgirl Trio! Can they abandon Handel for Hank Williams and become country music heroines in just 24 hours? Back in the saddle for Horizon's 30th anniversary season, Cowgirls was a sold-out sensation during its original run in 1998 and 1999. Lasso up your friends and family for what the New York Times calls "a joyous, slapstick hoedown!"
Performances of Cowgirls run tonight, May 16 - June 29, 2014. Show times are Wednesday - Friday at 8 PM, Saturday at 3 PM & 8:30 PM, and Sunday at 5 PM. This show is recommended for ages 10 and up.
