Georgia Shakespeare, a professional theatre company known for its bold interpretations of classic plays, has announced a new social group geared towards Atlanta's young professionals, the Shakespeare Crashers.

Founded by associates from Alston and Bird and Homrich Berg, the Shakespeare Crashers blends exciting, affordable theatre with social networking opportunities.

"In addition to great theatre, Georgia Shakespeare offers a relaxing outdoor environment that's perfect for social events," said Chris Kowal, an associate with Homrich Berg who helped found the group. "Shakespeare Crashers will have an opportunity to enjoy a pre-show happy hour on the picnic grounds featuring complimentary beer and wine as well as discount tickets to the production. It's a unique, affordable alternative to the usual social and networking scenes."

Shakespeare Crasher happy hours for the 2009 Summer Festival are scheduled for June 17 (A Midsummer Night's Dream), July 1 (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof), and July 29 (Titus Andronicus). Events begin at 6:30 p.m. and feature a beer and wine reception sponsored by Atlanta Brewing Company. All performances begin at 8:00 p.m. and take place at the Conant Performing Arts Center, 4484 Peachtree Rd. NE, Atlanta, GA 30319. Tickets are $25 and include the pre-show reception and a ticket to the performance.
